DIY Snow Flap Delete

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Here's a quick little DIY snow flap delete for all you Arctic Cat folks out there. Snowmobiles need cooling from the snow and the flap plays a huge role in making sure that happens. But what happens when you get in the deep powder and the flap is always in the way? Recently Ski-Doo developed their LinQ system and it's an awesome way to quickly remove the snowmobile snow flap. For those of us with Arctic Cat sleds it's a little more of a challenge.
If you're new to our channel, we post videos about snowmobile tuning. Lots of tips and tricks for maintaining and modifying your sled and sled trailer. Mostly just DIY sled stuff for people who like to get their hands dirty or tinker in their garage.

Maybe with some crazy engineering you could make one that slides back in and out under the tunnel. Cool sled hack man.

rivet style threaded inserts would also be an alternative to the carriage bolt, less to drop in the snow, love the idea though!

I did this on my axys with the threaded rivets and male threaded plastic handles. Also did threaded rivets into the top of my hard pelican case to store the flap.

What i did was cut off the bottom section where it says arctic cat, and left about 3-4" above it, and riveted that back on. It looks so much better then no flap.

Yeah I was just thinking, isn’t that why Ice scratchers were invented? Don’t they do all the cooling, especially with the doo’s? Like the 2020 and 2021 mountain sleds? Since they don’t come with snow flaps from factory anyway?

Awesome. Another video of someone making a sled completely un-trail worthy. Between this and the derps putting cans on anything with an exhaust to shave a couple lbs at the expense of losing riding areas and getting db tickets I wonder why even call yourself a snowmobiler. Got any any vids of yourself ripping up a ditch and jumping roads?
