A crossbow was basically designed from a slingshot. So crossing the two would be un-engineering the crossbow.
@Kahadi2 ай бұрын
So... Isn't that pretty much just how a crossbow works anyway? A long shaft with some sort of cord that you pull back, with some sort of hook or clamp to hold it in place, and a trigger mechanism to release it. The ammunition is designed to hold onto the cord well enough to stay in place but loosely enough that when the cord is released and snaps back, the projectile disconnects from the cord and goes flying. The only real difference is that crossbows, at least ones most people are familiar with, use a crank system to pull the cord back, allowing you to more safely and more easily pull the cord even further than you could manage with your fingers, providing more power in turn. But I'm pretty sure there are early crossbows that didn't have a crank and were just pulled back by hand, much like a normal bow but with the benefit of being able to lock it in place to more easily aim it.

you can do this without being unsafe, you can figure this out without being insecure
Flatten the end of the nails and cut a notch to hook it instead of bending. Attach fly on the other head and it will shoot straight like an arrow instead of flipping in the air.
Then weld sodder nail at end of hooked nail and have a point. It only needs to stay on to launch the nail pointed at target
Thats pretty cool
It'll be fun finding those nails all over the place in the future.
We did that in high school with the rubber band and a paperclip
He literally showed us a sling shot attached to stick. Talk about reaching. Great job thou well done👍🤙
Eye protection is highly recommended with this.
Ever Heard of "joerg sprave"?
That’s pretty cool I think I’m going to have to make one of those
These are the people who will survive the zombie apocalypse.
Just had these boxed rubber bands that fit perfectly randomly sitting in the corner here to use for the design.
The reverse crossbow/backwards slingshot😮😮😮
When mom says “we have carrot top at home”
we made something similar as kids back in the 90s........using wodden clothes pegs and using the spring from the clothes peg as the ammo.
KND 2x4 technology at its finest
Hey i did this with random junk in my grandpas shed and made a crossbow. That nail trigger is a terrific idea compared to the jerryrig i did
Guys this is the rifle of the future
I dont know anything about making things from metal but i dont think that rubber band he used to lock in the 2 nails is gonna do anything.
Did anyone else think it was weird he drilled holes for nails 😂
This was literally me when I was 10. I built one of these. Made an actual cross bow with a real bow and then scaled up to a rocket launcher. 😂
I love the movie slingbow with Daniel David Lewis
We used to make peg guns back in the day
Isn't a crossbow technically a slingshot that slings arrows instead of stones
You can look at establishing a climbing rope in a tree as an application. Ie have the ammunition trail the throw line behind it.
Armour up guy’s armour up ✊✊
If you bend the head of the nail, you may create a more lethal weapon to use for small game.
Zach Fowler did a version of this I bet he would love to see your version

Except it doesn’t shoot harpoons…
I made something similar, but much smaller and you can mount it on your arm
This might had been more efficiant than the Blunderbuss, and or those rifles that needed to be pushed down with a stick, if they had the know-how. Also a bit more silent like silencers
That thing is fun we use it as a weapon in a sort off a wargame when i was a kid
can make hooked arrows or spikes with the same concept even fishing prongs
Curved nails can boomerang just letting yall know....😊i learned from experience
Interesting shadow at the end
You might be able to sharpen the leading edge of that ammo on a belt sander
Wait, isn't a crossbow just am advance version of a slingshot? Its like turning a fork into a spoon.
That crimpring could really hurt when it snaps back
Ive seen where things you shooting these slingshots have caught in the leather patch and sling back at you when the bands come back.
