DIY Simple Shop Cabinet For My Drum Sander!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey everyone!
I recently spoke with Ridgid about their new jobsite saw and was happy to test one out along with a new and revised 12" miter saw. I needed a simple shop cabinet for my drum sander as the stock base was too flimsy and I wanted more storage in my small shop. I now have a large mobile cabinet with 4 huge drawers that hold all of my sanding medium. Plans to follow!

Will you be making a video of your fancy table saw sled? That would be very interesting. Thanks

I wanted to like their miter saw so bad, just not the quality I hoped for. My 4512 table saw is great though Nice build though! I’m working on a cabinet for my 25-50 now. Looking around for some inspiration

enjoyed observing your process and commentary...wanted to build a stand for my drum sander and your setup meets all my expectations. one question, if I may...a single layer of 3/4" for the sander to sit on provides a sufficient base? Little distortion/vibration during operation? Either way, I'll proceed with your design and extend thanks for sharing...consider yourself SUBSCRIBED!

@@CReevesMakes that's the worst thing about machinery on casters. Especially when the leading 2 disappear under the machine!

I wanted to build a stand for my drum sander to utilize the open space under the stand and thought this looked like a good design but it looks like you can’t fold down the table extension wings. That would make this design a no go for me as I often need to drop these down and roll this machine out of the way to utilize shop space

this is true. I got the wings right as I built the cabinet and I should have reconsidered how to do it. I can drop them slightly to remove the surface but not all the way.

That came out great, and the angled drawer front on the bottom drawer is such a good idea! I’ve been trying to find the small ridgid vacuum you have, but it seems like they don’t make it anymore.
