    Would certainly reduce it for sure! :) You'd need to make 10mmm spacers as the wheel deck uprights are on 10mm plates, but even a few washers would work.

    Looking good mate, I haven't got that stage, still using a GT Ultimate + VR. Those plasmas do have reasonably reflective surface, It'll be interesting to see how much vibration translates from the motion platform/cockpit to the monitor.

    Another top notch idea, and video Karl 👍🏻 Would you have a list of all the components that you ordered, sizes etc that you could share with us? I’ll be buying the Prime rig soon, and this looks like a great solution to the issue of a monitor stand not being currently available from GT Omega. How long before they use your design and start selling them? Make sure you get your commission! 😉

    One thing that works well with your cockpit being a silver pre-production unit is its silver color and the add-ons like you are doing is it is much more likely to be able to source silver profile and brackets for accessories than to source those parts in black to match the production chassis rigs. Actually I wish they offered the production model in silver as well as black. Considering ordering one just trying to talk myself into justify spending the dollars. Granted you could always prime and paint the channel and brackets but adds more time, cost and effort. I also agree with the other posters about running a horizontal brace to the wheelstand to eliminate shake and make the mount much more secure and sturdier. I just found your channel and some great down to earth videos!

  • @KarlGosling

    @KarlGosling

    3 жыл бұрын

    Agreed mate, a silver option would be good, but a can of Hammerite smooth black would sort out any mis matches too as you say! :) Yeah braces across to the wheel deck upright would sort it, so far it's not bothered me enough to worry. Thanks mate, doing my best! :)

    A TV is not suitable for this proximity, your best bet is to replace your wheel deck uprights with an extra length pair and invest in a good 32” curved, or triples if your rocking a pc. The stupidly large uprights will accommodate /support a monitor and wheel and be rigid enough, especially if you brace your uprights instead of relying on one contact point

  • @KarlGosling

    @KarlGosling

    Жыл бұрын

    A TV is fine, 32" is far too small, triples are great I have 3x55" now. Then you cannot ever adjust the view distance or move your rig independently of the display... which I need to do all the time!

    Hi Karl. I know it is an older video but i need to ask how long are the side aly profiles on your DIY build who are building the square frame? They look shorter than 1 meter. I planning one by my own and dont have a seat yet but want to leave enough space left to add one later on. So i would be happy if you can give me that measure :)

    The beauty of the aluminium profile is that you can do this kind of stuff with it. With regards to the wobble wouldn't a second set of brackets at the bottom of the stand help?

  • @KarlGosling

    nice! why don't you just buy some extra legs for the stand, so it's on the floor instead on the rig. I think it's better that way 1, no wobble from the rig. 2, you can freely adjust the distance of the monitor .
