Hey guys, thanks for stopping by my channel! In this tutorial, I am teaching you how to make this beautiful reversible macrame bag that can be used as a purse, market bag, cross body bag or beach bag.
I do consider this to be an intermediate pattern, so if you are new to macrame and would like to try, please watch this slow, step by step video and the basic macrame knots before you begin:

***PLEASE NOTE: THIS BAG STRETCHES OUT SUBSTANTIALLY WHEN FILLED.
The following measurements are for the bag empty, laying flat:
From top of handle to the bottom: 25 inches/63.5cm
Width: 12in/31cm
Just the body (not including handles): 14in/35.5cm
For this bag I used a 5mm, braided cord in the colour Laurel, here is a link to this cord:

CORD LENGTHS:
HANDLES: 2 X 42in/105cm
BODY: 36 x 7ft/215cm
TOTAL CORD: 260ft/79.5meters
TIP: It is always a good idea to cut extra cord length for you first time making a pattern, the type of cord, tension of your knots, spacing of your knots, and many other factors can all attribute to a need for extra cord length.

Wow!! I know you say this is an intermediate pattern but your instructions are so amazingly clear that even a beginner like myself could easily make this!! Fantastic tutorial! Question: As a beginner I am not familiar with the rope sizes but I seem to be having difficulty finding 5mm cord so I am wondering if this pattern would work with 4mm or 6mm possibly?

I really like this bag and as others have said, your instructions are so clear and easy to follow. I'd like to add wider handles to make it more comfortable to hold. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi. If I wanted to make this a little bigger (adding about 5 inches to the width and 5 inches length to the body of the bag), how many cords should I add? And how much longer should I measure my cords to be? Please help. I love everything you make. I would really really appreciate the help.

I’ve never made it any other size so I can’t give to exact information, but I suggest adding an even number of cords to the handle until you get the width you want. If the length is staying the same there is no need to cut extra length.

Oi, Ana! Ela utilizou: Cordão trançado de 5mm 2 cordões de 105cm para as alças 36 cordões de 215cm para o corpo da bolsa Total de 79,5m de cordão Mas ela sugere também que corte os cordões um pouco maior se for a primeira vez que estiver fazendo esse padrão pois o tipo de cordão, a tensão dos seus nós, o espaçamento entre os nós e muitos outros fatores podem demandar a necessidade de uma maior quantidade de cordão.
