My reason to get the most accurate fully load numbers is to get the right prop pitch. More power lower rpm's. More range at faster speeds when conditions are flatter.

Great video. Was there a gasket on the thermostat housing? Couldn’t tell in the video and you made no mention of it. Would have been worth changing it also if there was one. Loved the demonstration with the old thermostat. Prop clear. 👍👍

Man Fantastic videos! keep them up! Question - When you run the muffs do you have water coming from your tell tale? I have never been able to get enough pressure unless I squeeze the muffs or block of lower vent holes. I am about to start using a garden hose splitter so muffs along with the upper flush port.

Yes a lot of water comes out out of the connectors. But that is normal because the Of the agents are very small. That's why you can't get a lot of water into them captain but I have the same problem

Capt, that was a very nice demonstration of how a thermostat operates and I had never seen that before. Was the thermostat due replacement because of hours on the motor and did you not have to replace a gasket during installation or maybe the gasket was still okay?
@OutOnTheReef
Жыл бұрын
Hello captain. The gasket comes with the thermostand I changed it because it was due. It has 300 and hours plus. And the dealers say to inspected every hundred hours by them
Your very through! As usual!

Useful! What is Yamaha's recommended thermostat replacement interval for this engine, please?
@OutOnTheReef
Жыл бұрын
They say the dealer must inspect that every 100 hours. And if it needs to be changed there will change it. But in my case I think 200 hours is a good time to change it.👍
Just looking for confirmation from someone regarding the "little hole" position. Oriented down is correct? Thanks!

Not that you run a fully loaded boat max'd out all the time. But using a 225 HP motor would give you more range.

Most definitely captain I would love to have a 225 horsepower engine. That's really. What I need on my boat
Small hole should be on top
@OutOnTheReef
5 ай бұрын
hello cap. but wen i first replaced mine it came from factory on the bottom and why you think it should be on top cap?
5000lbs seems light, the Base DRY WEIGHT boat is 3500 lbs, Who knows what the options gotten at time weight? Gas 90 gals = 550 lbs. The motor is 500lns. You weigh say 175 lbs guess, Live well guess water 50 gals= 300 lbs. Gen 50 lbs. All other stuff says 800lb to 1100lns. That like closer to 6,000lbs
@OutOnTheReef
Жыл бұрын
Wow that is very possible cap im underpowered for sure
Just saw the video through. You do flush. Great. Still, using a salt remover hel[s clean and protect. "Simply rinsing salt away with fresh water is not enough to remove salt and over time the build-up can cause mechanical problems and breakdown."
