DIY Radiant Floor Heating Control System with Home Assistant and Raspberry Qt

In this video I show an application of the boards I designed in previous videos (Custom Temperature Censor and Relays Box) to create a control system for my radiant floor heating. In practice, I can control the temperature of the areas of my home both remotely via Home Assistant and locally using a Raspberry-based user interface and a 7'' touch display created using the Qt framework.

Brilliant. Quick question: how are you turning the boiler/pump On? ( I see the top right toggle in the touch screen but what is it controlling)

Very interesting. What are you using for the regulation of heat source? And what room thermostat do you have? If you have one? Can you draw how this system communicates? Its interesting

Do you get a lot of temperature fluctuations in the floors with on/off controls like this? Did you consider PWM control to more precisely adjust the flow?

The radiant floor has a large thermal inertia, the target temperature is controlled with a hysteresis of 0.1°C. The fluctuations are low. Sure PWM control would be better.

Brilliant! I have a question: do you think your solution could also communicate with the hearing boiler and turn it off when no heating is needed?

You have to see what kind of interface the boiler has. But I think it's possible.

@@vigasan Yes, yes, what I meant is rather if your solution allows that. The interface is quite simple "NO-COMM" or "NC-COMM".
