Something I forgot to mention, Hitachi is the brand I’m running for the gtr coil packs! Even if you don’t go with gtr coil packs, HITACHI is the answer for any coil packs in my experience haha, denso makes good quality ones aswell!
Joe nice mod. What is the difference in voltage output in the GTR coils vs Stock G35 coils? I strongly believe for Normal Induction, it's overkill and not needed, (aka Placebo). Perhaps if you were building a 600Hp+ Force Induction Monster, it might make a difference. Otherwise save your money and buy the OEM Hitachi coils should they ever fail. My 17year old coils at 104K miles are still working fine. Be sure to spray Deoxit on the connectors and Dielectric Grease on the plug end to minimize corrosion and extend the life of the coil. Old plugs with wide gaps make coils work harder and can cause premature failure.

There's a video that test different oem coil packs. It turns out, the R35 and G37/370z ignition coils have the same spark output.

@Joe Vazquez so first of all want to say good video, provided a lot information for these coil packs, the price point, the reason they are the better ones out there, and the performance. I was considering doing them but idk for sure if I’ll be boosting my g35, but I did have a question for you, if I wanted to upgrade my g35 sedan coil packs which would be the next jump, the 370s or Audi R8s?

hey what were your symptoms of bad coil packs? my car was bogging a bit i checked my coolant and saw it was low i added some in the reservoir tank and seemed to go a ways slowly ? any thoughts
How’d they bolt up to the valve covers?
Ok so does it perform better like snappier on take off or go a lil faster

Negative! I’d just make sure to disconnect the battery when you’re messing with the connectors but other than that no cel will come on nor do you need a tune! :)

Hey so I’ve just got me a g35 and since it’s my first car idk how to fix it but I was noticing that my g35s coil packs weren’t bolted to the car and idk if that why my car takes like 7 seconds to start
What was the issue that made you decide to replace your coil packs? My 6MT G37 sedan has been bogging like crazy lately, it essentially feels like it doesn’t make any power until about 3k RPM and then I get a surge of acceleration like nothing happened. I replaced the brake pedal switch & reset my ECU because the forums suggested those things but nothing changed. The forums also suggested changing the coil packs so I was curious if you were having the same issue.

My old coil packs were on their last legs so I noticed the car run a bit smoother! You won’t really get any gains out of it, it’s moreso if you’re planning to boost or are boosted, it’ll make sure you have really consistent spark and also don’t lose hp on the top end due to spark blowout!
Running One coil pack different than the other five is not good for the engine because the spark and pressure is going to be completely different….
