Great video on cache! Just a couple of tips for this process if you'll have them. Use a chop saw with a pvc vinyl blade and cut slow. If you have a shop vac available, rig it up and catch the majority of those clingers. The primer is basically your sand paper for the joints and catalyst for the bonding/fusing of the parts. Test fit your pieces and use a pencil to trace the overlapps. Don't prime or glue past those lines. Leave a 1/4" of pipe visible. When gluing, do the same. There will be residual/extra glue that presses down with the cap and clean out to the line. Rotate the pieces you are bonding together ever so slightly when connecting, and you can feel the fuse happening. Hold them tight together for about 15-30 seconds. It's pretty weird, but you'll notice a tendency of the fitting and pipe trying to push back or rebound. Don't let it. Once the main sections are fused together, then just scuff as you did and prime and paint. The only other advice I have, lol, is to use a product called RECTOR SEAL.... comes in a white tube for pvc threads or any paste compound instead of the Teflon tape. It really fills the threads and will not ever leak. But it is removable and works 100 percent of the time to make your cache tube impervious to the elements. Teflon tape alone works well if there is no risk of the cache being submerged. If burying in the ground is your goal, use the paste. You will be pissed to find your beans, bullets, cash, guns, etc, wet and ruined. I've tested cache tubes in the ground, in lakes, rivers, in trees, everywhere. The paste is non-hardening Teflon infused and even the critters won't eat through it. Love the videos and just sharing from personal experience. Also, I have installed miles of plumbing

The primer isn’t needed. Long as the joints are cleaned with the cleaner an properly cleaned pushed on with a little rotation. It isn’t coming loose. And only needs to be held for a short moment before locking in place. Contracted many many pools to be built over the years pressure testing them all for 24 hours. Nothing wrong with the primer. But definitely not needed

@@AquaTech225 never used the primer myself at the outerbanks when installing the plumbing for the heated pools. You're correct that it's just for cleaning the pipe. Here in central n.c. dirt hurts.

I have several of these buried. If you live in an area with a high water table, or bury them in an area prone to flooding, place your items in the container as usual. Then fill the cache with playground sand and some desiccant packets to reduce the buoyancy of the cache.

I wanted to get a Safe Deposit Box to store copies of my important files and documents, but then I saw the cost and how rare they are now. I figure I would be much better off burying them! Thanks for the detailed video!

Beautiful. I build the same way. I always think of the scene from Stand By Me when Vern is searching for pennies buried under porch😂😂😂. I could literally add over a month to survival with my caches. 🙏 it never gets to that. Also extremely valuable for bartering. Great to see you. Loved the glasses. D😎🇺🇸🤙

Thank You Brother! That's a great scene from a great movie! Love It! I have been upping my game on my preps over the past couple months and these demos are going to be filled and placed soon. Currently, things aren't looking good. If things go south, there are a lot of folks that are going to be blind sided and will be completely unprepared. I've been doing a good bit of bartering lately. It's far better than cash purchasing. The glasses are now a necessity. My Optometrist informed me that I have some UV damage to both of my eyes and I have to wear my glasses all the time. They are transition lenses with high UV protection. I've needed reading glasses for a while and my distance vision was "okay" enough to not need glasses. But now, I'm wearing them! I gotta protect my peepers!

Thank You! That is an excellent strategy! During the class I taught, I discussed avoiding flood prone areas for placement. For most caches, they will be exhumed, contents used, and the refilled and replaced. It's definitely worth the effort to bust the seal to access dry contents when you need them!

Hi, FYI U put the tape on backwards. Go the other direction, starting out- working towards the beginning of the threads. This tightens the tape as the friction increases and gives a much better result. great vid.

Thank You Brother Kyle! I transitioned from desiccant to a sock of rice. It takes more rice to do the job, but you can eat it when you empty the cache. As long as desiccant is still in bead form you can dry it and reuse it indefinitely. Most folks get small packets of desiccant in product packaging and throw them away. Just one of those sachets will keep up to a 3 liter container volume dry if packed correctly. And They're FREE!!!! Blessings to you and yours Brother!

The watch is a Timex Expedition I picked up on sale from Wal-Mart more than 5 years ago. I own a Luminox SEALs watch (battery died after a year) and a SUUNTO (the battery died after two years). I found that all I need (and therefore want) is just a simple basic watch that works, it's tough, inexpensive and has a log battery life. I found everything in this Timex.
