Necessity truly is the Mother of invention. Plastic mulch was a game changer for me last year. No more countless hours weeding by hand. I was unable to rent a layer this year due to issues with agricultural equipment crossing state lines so I used a 2 inch toolbar to make my own. I was genuinely shocked at how well this setup worked and for a fraction of the cost of a commercial layer. I recommend fertilizing and preparing the soil well ahead of time.
