Love catching beaver just not the same kind as u but still want to know how to make a snare properly so thank u. Got some groundhogs that are digging around the support beams of my machine sheds. I can shoot a couple of them but never get them all needed another option. Not sure ill do it just good to know. U think these would be good for a groundhog as well?

they will definitely work on ground hogs. just make your loop smaller when you set the snare. ive had alot of success using cantaloupe as bait.

@@KoondickOutdoors nice thanks buddy. I prob had a hundred cantaloupe last year in my garden. Never grew them before though so i failed at picking them at the perfect time. Was thinking bout growing them on some lattice next time. I wasnt even gonna bait anything just figured id use some sticks to funnel their exit or entrance. One year had 9 come out 1 after the other 17 hmr took care of that prob happened in less than 5 minutes seemed like all were hanging out together and they didnt want their pals going without them. 1 adult female and 8 younger ones. But that never happened again even though im sure they are still having just as many babies. Was like watching a cartoon of dumb people when it happened. Got some barn cats that wonder around was the only reason i have thoughts on not doing it. But also have never seen a cat go into a groundhog hole thats why i was thinking about putting it in the entrance.
