No...Ivy gourd is smaller in size than parwal..parwal is called pointed-gourd in english..Ivy-gourd sabzi is called Tinde ki sabzi Or Tendli in Hindi, Tondli in marathi and Tindolaa in gujarati...both are from the gourd family but they are two different vegetables..not the same..

Your recipe appears to be inspired by bengali potol-korma/potoler korma recipe..parwal is called potol in bengali..they use bengali garam masala which is different than the marathi garam masala. Traditionally they make this sabzi in mustard oil but sometimes they make it in regular oil similar to how you showed😊 They don't add garlic and kasuri methi and they add melon seeds (charmagaj) instead of watermelon seeds, rest of the recipe is exactly the same as potol-korma recipe. Its nice that you explained this recipe in hindi for viewers who are not into watching the bengali videos..hehe..bengalis use posto/poppy seed paste a lot for making sabzis..
