I really like your approach of "slow and steady" on the home renovations. Social media is full of everyone wanting their perfect "forever" home right away, and the reality of home ownership is that aesthetics aren't as important as functionality

Thank you! It really is very important to teach everyone about money and how to manage it. I think this is something they should teach in school, but they didn't when I went. Luckily my parents taught me =)

I'm so glad you mentioned the reality of your timeline. We have a joke in our family that if we stop even one dollop of paint short of finishing a home project, it will be six years to get that last dollop done.

Congratz for the award and for your finished office 😊👍 It's a great idea to put up unfinished pictures (IMHO they don't need that much finishing, they look great as they are already) and I'll memorize your advice to do what you can do at a time. I'm a perfectionist, which leads to a ton of unfinished or unstarted projects. I'm going to work on myself on that. Also, I appreciate you telling us about all the hiccups and little setbacks! PS: I was melting at Levi "vacuuming" 😆 So cute!

Cords!! I don’t deal with cords very well and in my job, when I was on computers all day with two screens, we had cords everywhere! We also played musical offices at work, at least once a year. It was an ongoing nightmare. I was pretty strict about my cords, especially after the IT guys would just shove them behind the desk. I would go behind them and continually straighten them out. I also helped other staff fix their mess. When I retired, the staff said they would miss my OCD of cords. I also am OCD about the Christmas lights. The strands are not tangled and wrapped well when put away. I’ve only replaced some of my lights for the energy saving and safety reasons. P.S. Congratulations on 100K. Glad to have been along on this journey for the past 5-6 years!

It will be fun to see the art work in this room change as you finish it to your taste.

The tape on the wall is great for plaster walls anyway. My dad taught me to always put a piece of tape before I nail, to help the wall stay together if you remove the nail later.

Congratulations on your award! Your office turned out great. Even unfinished, I love your paintings. I wouldn’t trim the macrame tassel on the wall plant. There’s a peaceful natural angle from U/L to L/R of the three wall items. Enjoy your new space!

Where did your baby go? 🥹 Weren’t you just blocking off everything from him? Now he’s ‘helping’ with projects. That inspired me to take the crocheted panini blanket that I need to finish out of my bag and put it somewhere that I can see it daily. Thank you. I had an issue with cords and few outlets. Also, we would lose power randomly. I finally bought a battery back up and surge protector. I can plug everything into this and it gives me some time to power things down when the power goes out. Congrats on the 100K accomplishment!

Cords! I put all mine in a narrow-ish plastic basket and suspended it with some screw hooks hanging from the underside of the desk= no cords on the floor.
