DIY: Natural Mosquito Repellent - Effective as DEET!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This DIY will show you how to make Natural Mosquito Repellent and bug repellent Effective as DEEP!
This is very important as the beautyberry spray can be used as a natural insect repellent, to protect you and your loved ones from flying biting insects such as mosquitoes and gnats.
Native Americans used beautyberry in many different ways to make herbal remedies to treat many common ailments and it's been long used as a folk remedy. Modern studies have validated compounds within the beauty berry plant to be as effective as DEET.

Amazing. I have always heard that for every ailment God has placed a cure for us on this earth. Thank you.
I've been using beauty berry leaves for several years. I saw the information in Treasure Forest magazine. I boil mine in just enough water to cover for only about 30 minutes, then strain and put in spray bottle. It really does work!I
The good Lord provides everything we need in nature for healing our body and mind and he gives it to us for free and not profit like the big pharmacy companies! Blessings :-)

We got whole bunch of videos coming. We have been filming all the time. All our videos are usually progressions ( so our homestead family don't have to go thru 20 videos to get the whole story) we try best we can to put as much as we can in each one. It's a lot of work but it saves our homestead family a lot of time. Enjoy
Thank you vary much for always sharing your experiences with us. The hack you did with the crock pot was ingenious. It will save me a lot of time in front of the stove.
Thank you Nancy! God has given us a solution to every problem we could encounter! God bless you both for sharing & teaching us everything that you’ve learned.
Hello Nancy your hair looks amazing on you. Tfs
My mom lived in the Ocala National Forest. She had a Beauty Berry on her lot. I always wondered what it could be used for. Thanks Nancy for a great video and explaining what it can be used for!
Excellent, I have beauty berries on my little place and I have heard of the insect repellent properties and I sure will try this. Thanks for doing this.
My daughter was playing with some friends and jumped over a bush and started yelling and crying. When I looked at her leg she was full of big welts up and down her legs. I looked at the bush and there were these little yellow caterpiller looking bugs on the bottom of the leaves. They had tiny spikes all over them. A girl nearby , ran inside and got some grated carrots and a cloth. She spread the carrots all over the welts and within minutes the welts were gone. God is so amazing if we just look around us , he made everything we need in nature to cure just about everything. Who knew roots sucked out poisons.

What a great video! You inspired me to also do some research and discovered the American Beautyberry (Callicarpa americana) is native to the southeastern United States where it can occasionally be spotted growing wild. American Beautyberry grows to 5’ tall and is winter hardy to zone 7 where I live. I noticed that Amazon and eBay both sell the plants. Also, I may have found a use for my old unused slow cooker. Thank you,
american beautyberry yes! i have some growing in nearby scrub brush. i’ve wanted to move some to the yard, now i have the motivation. thanks!

I’m following up to let you know I used your method for the insect repellent. I also boiled the berries for an herbal tea concentrate that I pressure canned. I ended up with about eight quarts. Add some lemon and honey. It is delicious and floral. I don’t eat jelly so that’s why I decided to try a tea instead.
Hey Nancy😃 We love your videos.. we have some growing on our land . I always love the deep color and use it with fresh flowers arrangement on our table outside.. haaa Never thought to use it for mosquito repellent.. I will try it . Thanks Nancy.. your great .. What great information! I grew up in Florida, but live in Texas now and have a large beauty berry bush in my yard. I love the bright purple color of the berries in the fall. Especially looks great near gold lantana. I will definitely try the beauty berry extract for a bug repellent. Any use for the berries?

It would be helpful to see its texture up close and how it applies. Thank you! I like how no alcohol, just puréed plant and dehydrating. Could organic oil be added for better shelf life and easier application? Also, do you think this method could work for other plants used in insect natural repellents? I’m not even sure we have these berries regionally. I’ve heard peppermint and marigold and tea tree are good just off top of my head. Thanks for sharing,
