I finally had the guts to finish this video after a year! Changed my mind to upload this because I want to help anyone who is trying to make Mulan's matchmaker dress. This is how I made it. ^^

whats the fabric for the skirt plus how did u put it together or is is many pieces

It's broadcloth. :) There are three pieces. The shirt, obi/ waistband wrap, and the skirt. First, I put on the shirt/ top part of the dress then have the skirt sit a little over the shirt to keep in place. Last, the obi/wrap covers the part where the shirt and skirt overlaps. Hope this helps!

Oh! I have the same one too. I can definitely see it working for Mulan. On the pattern, it says they suggest you use cotton to cotton blends fabrics or moderate to 2- way stretch fabrics.

Sorry for the late post. ^^; For the skirt, I used the 54” side of the fabric for the waist. It was alittle too much for the waist but I wanted to still have room for my legs to walk around. I sewed the elastic band on first layer( light pink fabric) then the red fabric on top around the pink fabric. Before I sewed the red on, I trimmed it to an angle to match Mulan’s dress and hem it. I will add Pocahontas onto the list of tutorials and try to make it.

You can try draping or maybe duct tape wrapping to make basic pattern.
