So glad I found her!! A tip I learned from Luke Towan, if you add alcohol to the dirt mix to wet it, then add a mix of glue and water, the alcohol helps evaporate the water leaving just the thin layer of glue. It's worked wonders for me when adhering beach sand to canvases and sculptures.
