DIY Miniature Books Tutorial! (1/6th scale)
A very belated guide to making a selection of miniature books using book covers I designed myself. There's a lot of printables for books out there already, but the vast majority are either vintage or antique style or very low quality scans of real novels, and I wanted something a little more contemporary and custom. I've got a lot of artwork and photographs of my own so I thought I'd put together a few covers and see how they looked. I ended up with about 40 of the damn things, so I'm sure you'll find something you'll like in the library! XD
These are scaled at 1/6th, so are perfect for Barbies and other similarly scaled fashion dolls. If you'd like them for 1/12th scale, just print them 50% smaller and they should turn out right. They're sized to be hardbacks rather than paperbacks, so feel free to make them a little smaller if you'd prefer.
If you don't have foamboard, stacked layers of card work just as well!
All the covers are available on my blog, below, and are free for personal use only. There's a link to a PDF of them all on there as well if you'd rather print them all out rather than individual titles. There's also a little information on each of the 'novels', as most are based on my own original characters.

I hope you enjoy, and please do let me know if there's any other kinds of book you'd like to see as I really love making them!
I post more DIYs on my instagram, @Lynkhart if you're interested. :)

Hi. Is there a way to get cover images like the one you used but for other books?

If you search for dustjackets or covers of the particular books you like, you can often find them online, but the image quality varies. Of course you can also scan them in or take photos of them as well but it's a bit of a faff!

How did you print the book covers with the spine? I've been trying to figure it out for a while now😭
Are there any copy right issues with using real covers?

Technically, yes, though I doubt any publishers would bother you for personal use, but I wanted to make my own anyway.
