[DIY] Making A Monitor Out of an OLD LAPTOP Display | Using Laptop's Display as a Monitor

In this video I showed you how to recycle your old laptop display and make a new external monitor out of it, the process of doing the same is very simple all you need is a controller board for your laptop’s display the laptop that I used in the project was the Lenovo ideapad 310 . I used pieces of MDF wood for the frame and used double sided tape to fix the components onto the MDF, I also used vinyl wraps to cover the MDF so that It does not look ugly, for more watch the full video.

Amazon deliver free, guess what price will be (1500 to 2000) + plus + (5000-6000) 😅
I think this project is only for those who love DIY, if you think about price a controller is going to cost around 2 3k and then you will salvage your laptop for a monitor but if you want a new monitor a 15inch monitor starts from 3000 and a good one can easily be found in 5000, so economically i am going to drop this idea.

A 15 inch 1080p monitor would cost you close to 8-9k. Don't buy those 720p monitors. I have a broken laptop lying around with 14" 1080p capacitive touch display. That screen is worth 10-12k.

Great video, I used my old Toshiba laptop and gutted it out except for the screen and my Raspberry Pi400 fits right inside along with my bluetooth keyboard and the lcd board and it works great and is lighter than my HP laptop. I just invented a Toshiba/Pi laptop. Lol. If I had a Pi 4b it would also fit in nicely. Thanks, Mike

Yes.. custom and the delivery charges are almost 3 to 5 times of basic value of the controller board.

brother pl help me out here i bought a external monitor for big screen for my laptop and i can connect it by hdmi cable(good till here), but i also wanted it to connect with my desktop but the problem is that the external monitor has only hdmi slot and i have vga pin from cpu of desktop. so which tpe of converter i should buy (hdmi to vga or vga to hdmi) pl tell.
