Hi everyone, first off thank you for watching this tutorial. It has been a labour of love trying to figure out which way would be best to record this one!! I can't tell you how many hours it took me to finally record and explain it in a way I I PRAY will be clearly understood. I hope it does the trick and you guys can all be on your way to creating these beautiful, versatile pods...
This is an intermediate tutorial and I highly suggest you know your square knots and alternating square knots well before attempting this project. If you need help with these knots please see the tutorial below for a slow, step by step process for the basic beginner knots.
• HOW TO: 7 MUST KNOW Ma...
As always, if you have questions or want to let me know what you think, please let me know in the comments. :)

I love how you say "kay?" at the end of every sentence. You can say "we're gonna be jumping off a cliff, kay?" and I'll do it with a smile on my face and peace in my heart.

Thank you so much for this tutorial, I made this one three days ago 😀 My biggest 'mistake' is that I didn't watch the tutorial, I just started cutting all the cord. This is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing the detailed instructions. I plan to use 3mm single ply cord. Can you tell me if I need to use more or less cord cuttings? Thanks in advance!
@soulfulnotions2648
3 жыл бұрын
That’s so kind of you, thank you!🙏🏼 I think using 3mm you could get away with cutting about 4-6 inches less, maybe more but I’d be careful! Also because it is a thinner cord, you may want to add and extra of the floating square knots, just to make to opening a decent size, but that’s something you can experiment, and play around with:)
@nicolesoliven276
3 жыл бұрын
I used 2 mm cotton cord and it turned out great overall. However, I added extra floating knots and if I do this again would add extra of the beginning set of strings (the attached / semi-floating knots) so the triangle portion of the back side is more proportional in size to the any additional floating knots. I did not modify the length of the strings and it was enough without too much extra waste. Good luck!
Thanks a lot,, Wonderful

Oh my goodness, thank you so very much Melissa, that means a lot! I used to make bracelets etc as a child and started making it again about 5 years ago!
I have been looking for something exactly like this for a particularly earth conscious friend and seeing how she already loves my homemade rope (plastic bag recycling tutorials rock people!) I’m thinking she’s going to love her succulents hanging around her Florida sunroom more than now since they’re all scattered about sitting on whatever surfaces get the sun which she’s always complaining about having to move around just to do some light cleaning so hanging them where they get great sun, aren’t messing up her tabletops and can be relocated at will (for this I’ll be using those metal shower curtain holders that are a dime a dozen {well maybe a dollar LoL} and very easy to replace should they get a little “used” looking) and she’s happy, I’m busy so I’m happy, and her condo is easier to clean so gets cleaned more often making her father happy... guess all that’s next is to ask... is everybody happy?!? No, then I suggest macrame! LoL! TTFN & thanks again for sharing! ✌🏼🙏🏼🧿

This is such a detailed and easy to follow tutorial, thank you so much. I'm wondering if I could possibly make this larger with the knots more spaced out for a looser weave (for a fruit basket) Do you think that would work? Would I need to change the lengths much? Also, is there a way to end the basket without the hanging cords at the bottom? for a more simple look? I'm new to macrame so this is all very new to me. Thanks so much for sharing!
