Although I may or may not make this dress, as a beginner sewing enthusiast I am thoroughly enjoying your video. You make it so easy to follow and understand by using a narrative on the screen and showing each step by step on how you are creating this dress. Thank you for your demonstration! Instead of "glossing" the video over with music, there's nothing wrong with hearing the actual sewing machine "roar"! I'd much rather hear the nature sounds of the ambience! Please do NOT speed up the video when at the sewing machine or when you are surging. These are some of the BEST parts of the video. Because we get to see your work on how you are putting this creation together. It doesn't matter if it make the video longer. Leave it at regular speed please. Those who do not want to see that can fast forward it.

Really lovely. I checked out your etsy shop. Looks nice. I plan to order, just need to decide what color linen! Question: linen is rather transparent, which is not acceptable for every occasion. Do you have a fabric suggestion for lining the dress? Or would a heavier fabric be wiser?

Mainly I sew clothes in etsy MstyleClothing shop and sell same dresses as patterns. I use midweight linen which is NOT transparent (exept white), so you can select any color you like, no lining beeded.

Thank you for the tutorial- visualisation always helps a lot. I got the pattern and plan to sew this weekend. If I would like to make a blouse too, what is the best length to cut? At the pocket?

I made a pattern for blouse with some adjustments, because pleat are too big for shorter blouse..

I have two separate tables, white, you see it in the video, is 180cm wide and 140cm long. Next to it is other table in brown, 180cm wide and 280cm long. I have a small linen sewing studio so I need a lot of space for cutting dresses 🎉

Great tutorial but a huge let down that we don't see the dress worn and modeled at the end. Really important to see the dress on someone who is moving to see how it hangs, moves and looks! So, for me, this video is lacking a chance to see the end product on an actual person.

@craftyteacher try the sewing revival stitch bird dress….identical to this and goes up to a size 22.

I feel so dumb because I think I'm the only person who has found this complicated! Though I know on my own fabric what is the right/wrong side, it's difficult for me to determine in the video what is right/wrong side. I'm very new to sewing, so I don't have background knowledge about what might typically work

Hi again! I think I explained in details in my previous messages on Etsy how to mark write and wrong side of the garment. I do it clearly in this video by marking X on every cut pattern.

@@sewing_habit thanks! I'm good with that part, but I struggled with understanding in the instructions which side was which for sewing. Again, I'm very new so directions that are probably very common and simple are things that I could have benefited from more explanation. Regardless, after many views I was able to successfully sew the dress!

At first sight, this dress pattern is offered for 10.50€. It instantly switches to 12.50€ as I enter it to the basket. I want to purchase it for the pride displayed with 10.50€. That's not possible.

Price depends what country you are in. If you are in EU, vat is added automaticaly when delivery or payment information occures.

Do you only sew with linen or can you use other material too? hate wrinkled clothes there is nothing attractive about them.

Lovely dress . Please pull out your pins before you sew over that area. You are risking an eye injury and can throw off your machines timing.

So true. My needle hit a pin and a piece up into my eye. Left a scratch in the cornea. Last time I left pins in.
