DIY LED Pixel Tubes

In this video I will do a quick runthrough of how to build your own addressable pixel tubes using repurposed T8 polycarbonate LED tubes, some basic electronics, pixel tape and a pixel controller.
LED pixel controller used: www.enttec.com/product/contro...
Addressable RGB pixel tape used: www.enttec.com/product/pixel/...
T8 LED tubes bought 2nd hand from ebay. You can use any tube but make sure its polycarbonate and has an aluminium channel and removable ends.
Enclosure, Leads and all connectors purchased from AliExpress - Nice and cheap and good quality.
Cables made from an old power extension cord (3 core). This provides sufficient gauge for extended runs.

Great work! Can you tell us which T8 LED tubes you used? It's hard to find the right one! That would help me a lot. Thank you very much!

Such a great and inspiring tutorial! Do you mind giving the links to the 4pin Pixel Tube Connectors? I cannot find them, and they look pretty good to me, since they have a lock screw and seem to be even water resistant

looks great, ive been bussy with a project where an esp32 is integrated in the tube with wled installed on it. There can be muliple tubes 'slaves' connected with the 'master' tube. Id like to make an affordable kit (5 ledtubes from 1.20m) for students/younger people who want to throw a party but doesnt have the money to afford decent lightning and also dont want to pay a lot for it. What do you think?

Do you have any close ups of the wiring you used to make them daisy chainable? Did you just run the data back to the bottom of the tube and gang all the wires together on that end?

You can buy adressable led strips for 25 $ those entec cost 180$ what is the difference? Its just because its sponsored? Because you can achieve the same result with a WLED controller (DMX with artnet as well) You can have tons of options on led strips 5v or 12v, and even water proof. and you would never waste 180$ in everything combined. You could do all of this with even more functionality for way less. like 60 bucks. (Edit: I even noticed that they are adressable in each 3 leds. You could have true individual leds. And water proof and 60 leds per meter anyway.)
