DIY Kitty Ice Cream Amigurumi Crochet Tutorial

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey Guys!
Today's tutorial is on creating these really adorable kitty ice cream characters via crochet. The video goes through each step, so it's perfect for beginners. Although crocheting can be really intimidating, with practice, it's actually a really easy to create the cutest little critters. I love how the ice cream kittens turned out. I made two of them: a mint green flavored one and a strawberry flavor one.
I hope you enjoy the tutorial. I will do my best to stick a halloween tutorial or two before halloween comes around. Thanks so much for waiting! love you guys.
xoxo

I tried to write the pattern out by following the video. It's not perfect but hopefully it will help those who need it written C: 2.75 mm Hook Working in joined rounds Anything in *bold* means to repeat until the end of each round Remember to chain 1 at the beginning of each new round Ball: Chain 2, join slip stitch to first (Or magic ring!) Round 1: 6 SC in the middle of the ring Round 2: *SC in first SC, INCREASE in Next (two SC in one stitch)* Slip Stitch to Join Round 3: *SC in first two SC, INC in next* Slip to Join (I will abbreviate by S2J) Round 4: *SC in first three SC, INC* S2J Round 5: *SC in first four SC, INC* S2J Round 6: *SC in first five SC, INC* S2J Round 7: *SC around* S2J Round 8: *SC in first four, DEC (2 SC becoming 1) or skip a stitch like shown in the video (both work well!)* S2J Round 9: *SC in first three, DEC or Skip* S2J Round 10: *SC in first two, DEC or Skip* S2J Round 11: *SC in first one, DEC or Skip* S2J End of the Ball! Beginning of Cone: WITH BROWN: Chain 2, join slip stitch to first (Or magic ring!) Round 1: 6 SC in the middle of the ring Round 2: *SC in first SC, INCREASE in Next (two SC in one stitch)* Slip Stitch to Join Round 3: *SC in BACK LOOPS ONLY* S2J Round 4: *SC around* Round 5: *SC around* Repeat round 4/5 as many times as you like. This just makes the cone longer. Round 6: *two SC in FRONT LOOPS ONLY* Round 7: *SC in BACK LOOPS ONLY* Round 8: *SC around* SWITCH TO PINK (or the color of your ball of icecream!) Round 9: *2 or 3 SC in each SC around, feel free to alternate between 3 and 2 SCs to make a wavy pattern* End of cone! Ears: Chain 2, join slip stitch to first or magic ring Round 1: SC maybe 3-4 times in the middle? I'm not entirely sure how many is used in the video but I would estimate these to be the size she made :D All assembly shown in the video! Happy crocheting!

Your creations are really cute!! But it would really make it easier for a lot of people to understand if you gave exact numbers of rows/stitches instead of guesstimating.

Thank you, this is great. Even though I know the correct terminology and can read a pattern, your video was helpful because it explained what each step was doing, learning this way makes it easier to make your own custom creations versus just knowing how to follow pattern to copy the same exact thing that someone did. Thanks!

i love all your videos i even picked up felting just to try it. since i crochet i like those videos because i think i would be able to do them, but i haven't been able to make a single one. i keep getting horribly confused from the terminology you use from the one i am used to the sc=single crochet, dbc= double crochet, ch=chains. when i try to watch your videos from beginning to end while crocheting that gets more complicated since its not step by step ex. how many rows of single crocheting how many increases in one row how many times should i do this do i do like 5 rows of single crochets and all i need do is single crochet and 2 single crochet 2 together or do i do 5 single crochet then increase and repeat for several rows stuff like that. it may seem tedious to explain all of this in a video but its worth it to some because 1) i know i will have a high chance of making this correctly and not get horribly frustrated the ADD doesn't help either. i would also like to know how you made those cute cat ears i've been trying to make tiny fox ears but i can't when i saw those i thought great. i'll just have to keep trying.

Thank you for sharing these adorable little guys!! I agree with the other commenters about the instructions, though. It makes it more difficult without the proper terminology (saying "knot" instead of just "single crochet" etc). I think beginners would actually like to be shown what exactly to do, but with using the correct terms so they can apply what they've learned to other patterns. Also, it helps us intermediate - advanced crochet-ers catch on to what you're doing sooner, too. I'll be using a magic circle instead, as well. I think it will work better. Thanks so much! I really appreciate the video!
