When I was about your age, I'm going on 80 now, my husband would LEAVE for work on a weekend morning, I would redo an entire room by myself. I did keep the husband, he kept leaving and my rooms always turned out lovely. Now that I am old I miss doing the work and seeing his wonderful smiles when he'd return. Enjoy everything you do right now. The kitchen looks absolutely wonderful and your spousal person smiled while helping.

Great job on an enormous undertaking! “I just want to be finished!” I have said it many times. Things go wrong and everything takes longer and often costs more. Plus the zillion extra trips to Lowe’s. I have been doing DIY’s before the internet 😮!! Yes, it was tough but Home Depot sometimes offered live clinics & if I was extra lucky, someone knowledgeable would be next to me in the plumbing aisle and would kindly give me a pro tip or answer a question. KZread has great tiling videos - they are incredibly helpful. Cutting small tile pieces to fit around outlets, etc., is difficult- especially for a first timer. I felt your pain. You will tile again - but you need a few more tools and while you are folding laundry, you need to binge watch the professionals. It will be so much easier next time. Not easy, just easier. Your kitchen is bright, inviting, & absolutely lovely! Bravo to you & your fabulous plumber! xo

I think those touches were definitely needed to avoid having a super washed out look. The light fixture above the sink is a nice touch as well and the black ties into the rug. Congratulations on your kitchen it looks wonderful. I really appreciate your honesty throughout and your solution to being unable to source any more of the wallpaper came out great. Well done, you should and your husband should be very proud of your hard work and what you’ve achieved

Looks lovely. Best part is the bar along the wall. I love that.

Great job! I made the same mistake with grouting porcelain floor tiles. So frustrating and hopefully a lesson we need to learn once.

You are so brave and I know YOU now where every tiny imperfection is, but I cannot see any! I think it looks amazing. Now the kitchen matches the rest of the house, and you didn’t break the bank. And believe me when I tell you that professionals don’t always do things perfectly either. If it will make you feel better I will send you photos of a few goofs and gaffes that’s we have discovered in time that we didn’t notice right away. And the bill for our renovation was $70,000! So you be PROUD!!! You and Nick and your dad make a great team. Wow! 😍😍😍

I really love your open shelves. So pretty. I love that you changed the baseboards under the cabinets. The previous owners of our house added new cabinets but the baseboards look horrible! I need to fix them

You being on the verge of tears over the grout drying..I FEEL YOU! I did the same thing when I tiled my parent's shower. I don't know why more people in "How To" videos, don't elaborate on that. My hands had blisters the next day.

I’m 35 and have no clue how to change a light...but I can operate power tools! Thank you for sharing your struggles. Although frustrating and I wish that on no one, it really is so helpful to know what to avoid and just not feel alone when you make mistakes too!

I liked learning tips and also what not to do! We’re purchasing a home and we will remodel the kitchen - I learned some helpful stuff on both videos!
