yup an induction iron is probably pretty robust against any type of damage. but did you test if the magnetic field could damage semiconductors or other sensitive components?

Its not meant for 120/220 lol there is not resistance in the copper coil he wrapped around the tube therefore will short your AC LINE to the white/return wire . And it will probably burn out your power supply after a while or drain the battery

Is induction superior? One thing for sure, induction consumes more electricity to produce same amount of heat. Seems very dangerous and high risk to electrical short circuit

What he doesn't show in the video is the high frequency oscillator that powers the soldering iron. Since it requires an oscillator, you can design an oscillator to run from 12V batteries or something that plugs into the wall. He was showing us the design for a soldering iron where the heating element that heats the tip doesn't get hot, but gets the tip hot by sending high frequency oscillations into the tip. The tip acts like a shorted circuit to the high frequencies and the current heats it up.

This is called conduction heating not induction. In induction heating, the inductor does not heat.
