Just got my winch out of the shed to do a job this week. Been a few years since using it and couldn't work it out. Thank you so much for explaining the mechanism in simple terms and now ready for work.

I’ve only used my comealong a couple times and I recently put a lot of tension on it but couldn’t figure out how to release it. I forgot all about the spring mechanism! Thank you for the video!

Thank you for this helpful and intuitive display of how to work this damn contraption I’ve been trying to figure that darn thing out for two hours in the rain. Well I’m trying to hold in a decent size Dukie. Finally I was able to Waterloo, my fat butt inside. I tried to hold much and I could end, but my britches, or about to jump right off me, if you catch my drift, so rank you I don’t know how long I would’ve been out there trying to figure out that darn thing

@@darrenjones9504 I laughed at that too, but if you think it through it’s a valid statement. There are plenty of tools that are tricky to operate even once you have a firm grasp of how they work.

So there's no way to slowly release the tension on this model? I'm trying to figure out how on mine.

There may be a technique to do it that I don’t know about but as far as I can tell there is no way back it down slowly.
