This is fantastic. I've been fussing with a stucco treatment on a diorama for awhile, and never thought to use a foam brush. I'd been testing with natural sponge and crumpled paper towel but they didn't create a fine enough texture. Off to stucco some tiny walls now!

Thank you!!! I love creating subtle differences in the finishes! Haha I guess an easy way to enjoy the process of a build is to just make things that you like! It makes all the tedious parts worth it!

Your videos have been really helpful! One could just use any other acrylic color in the mixture to paint, no? If I wanted to paint a blue wall for example, or is it better to paint afterwards, does it still hold the texture? Keep up the good work!

Glad to hear that! And yes you should be able to mix color in just fine. The plaster might make it dry a little lighter than the paint color, so it’s worth testing on a scrap piece first!

These look great! Do you need to leave the piece to dry before your go back over with the second pass of heavier areas to create the second style texture?

Thank you! Yes I leave it to dry between coats, but the paste dries pretty quickly after it’s been applied. Thanks for watching!

Can you leave it outside ? I want to make a small house replica of my own home and place it in my patio

Hello Mr Smol, I saw the Santorini Dio and it was very good. I'd like to add one more suggestion for a texture. It's called a 'knockdown' finish. Apply stucco, pull up some big 'points, spikey areas' of it and gently knock down the high spots with a slightly dampened spackle knife dragged over them. This produces a larger pattern with fine and rough areas. Thanks for sharing all you do. I like the modelling content. I'm picking up some quick easy tips. See you soon. Michael V.

Hi there! I’m not sure as I’ve never tried using cornstarch. I’d recommend testing it out on some scrap sample pieces, and just practice until you find a method that you like. That’s usually what I do, I hope this helps and thanks for watching :)

Would food coloring work or do I have to paint over it?

Hi there! I’ve never tried food coloring so I can’t say for sure. I’d recommend doing a test piece to see if it works. If you’re only going for white, you could also try just mixing the plaster, mod podge, and water! Hope this helps!

Hi I think molding paste would hold it’s texture just fine and work well for this! I’ve used golden molding paste for texture before
