DIY how to make hydrating aloe vera shampoo bars🍀

Thank you for watching💝 This recipe makes two hydrating aloe vera + green tea shampoo bars, you can find the ingredient amounts in the video.
Here are the steps to make the bars:
Step 1 - Make the aloe vera liquid
Step 2 - Combine SCI + CAPB → melt in a double boiler
Step 3 - Combine BTSM + butter + color → melt
Step 4 - Remove BTSM mixture when melted & add SLSA
Step 5 - Remove SCI mix when melted & combine with BTSM-SLSA mixture
Step 6 - Add fragrance + aloe liquid + extract + preservative
Step 7 - Make sure everything is thoroughly mixed
Step 8 - Push into molds
Step 9 - Put in the freezer for a while for easier and faster unmolding
Step 10 - Unmold and let harden for a few days before using

    So, like others have commented, I too have been interested in making shampoo bars. Then I thought, "I bet Sara has a nice tutorial". And you did! 😊 There is such beauty in all your videos.     @@tellervo. Update, I made the bars again and I thought it was me that maybe I didn't do it right (the first time) but again the "batter" gets soooo difficult to mash and put in the mold without coming out...ugly after they dry. I used coconut oil instead of aloe vera butter, could that be why? I still love the feel of it though!

    I make a similar one that uses stearic acid and cetyl and a NF emulsifing wax added with most of what you use here. It's a really nice smooth conditioning bar. I wondering if this holds together well.

    Love this, you have beautiful hair! What did you do with the rest of aloe Vera liquid, since you only used 10g for the recipe? Also, will using fresh aloe Vera work? Thank you, love watching your videos, and I appreciate you sharing the formulation!!!

    Can I use BTMS 50 instead of BTMS 25 and if so, how much BTMS 50 should I put in? I understand that BTMS 50 has more of the conditioning ingredient in it, so should I put half of the amount you put in the video?

    I love this recipe using btms 25 instead of 50. In the water phase you use 199 g of distilled water + 1 g of aloe powder but you only use 10g of this into the recipe, correct?

    Yes that's correct. I followed the instructions on the label of the aloe vera powder on how to prepare it, and then only used the amount that I needed which was 10 grams🙂

    I would substitute with coconut oil, but the butters would work too😊

    The SCI was like tiny pieces, almost like flakes, but any kind would work. The SLSA was in powder form😊

    I am really new to formulating shampoo bars. It might work with just subbing it for more SCI, but in my understanding it's best to have a mix of surfactants so if you can find another lower pH surfactant you might want to try that🙂

    The only problem with aloe vera is it makes a soft bar. Swifty Monkey gives a detailed explanation on this and carrageenan powder. Otherwise I love all your other recipes 😊
