Great idea! My roommate found a 1940s cream and gold bedroom set in the trash and brought it home for me. The bed has high posts, perfect for a canopy but no framework for the canopy, this will work perfectly. Thank you so much!

You probley want to protect your toppers on the bed from the wire damaging them, Over time it will cut into the wood and ruin your top post, Just cover the toppers with some cloth or flowing ribbon to add to the effect.

This whole time I thought you bought the bed like that 😭 you’re so creative!

I thought what you did was ingenious! However I have a slightly different problem. 1. Have a ceiling fan I love ❤️ and it to be usable not impacted by my canopy drapes. 2.I have a semi-post bed meaning they are not tall like yours. I would have to make the 2 at the foot of the bed very tall and 2 at the head the height of the 2 at the foot so they are all the same height. But the Slight problem is I need 4 spindles and then have to drill holes in each of the balls, insert the spindles add a special glue to harden them in place. Then get onto the part you showed us. Any thoughts or suggestions.? Samantha

Not sure this is relevant anymore since this comment was two years ago but you should google hoop canopies...they are smaller but still give a similar effect to a full canopy bed. The curtains/fabric would go over/around/near the headboard but not the footboard so would likely not interfere with the ceiling fan. There are a bunch on the market but you can also make your own and save some money/make it exactly how you want!

Did you only use scotch tape for that one piece on the wire?
