Had to bend some top rail, I've been working alone and had no way to bend without another person, so I just threw in another Term. GOD I love building fence, 13 years experience.

Cool! I love building fences too! So many cool places and builds. I have worked for 5 companies over the last 30 years of building. I also do my own side jobs. I have trained a lot of crews and decided I would start sharing some it on youtube for all the other fencers. I picked up a lot of tricks over the years. In fact I might make a video next based on bending toprail without another person. I have several different techniques. That might be a good topic. But before I make the video I can give you a couple quick methods you can try that I use all the time. The bottom of the posts work great that are set. Pound additional pipe stakes at points where you want on or multiple bends. Strap a 1-7/8 post between posts and put the toprail in to bend. Bring pressed steel barb arms, they are really strong, tek screw them on the posts and use those temporarily for bending. The hitch receiver on the truck works well most times. Pull the bed stakes and put pipe in and bend off the pegs. Connect more than one piece of rail together for smoother bends if . If it is sleeves, bend two pieces and cut the flat parts out for continued or double bends. And I have more, but that should help you for now. Let me know what you think.

@@hjkropf Oh no way! I have not been to Utah in sometime.... Well that is really cool. I will check out the company. I worked for a few different companies over the years. So I have had plenty of practice. Just decided after all these years to share some of the things I learned since so many people are learning to build things for themselves. I am always on youtube learning stuff, so It is cool to be able to share something back. The bias cut is probably the most difficult to get right or know exactly what to do and where to start etc.... It took years before I finally came up with a method that I consider to be a professional and efficient method to determine where to cut and have a guide. It makes so much more sense looking at the fabric and knowing where to cut using the post as a benchmark for cutting the needles. Also to start on the top of the wire at the top of the bias, or the bottom of the wire for the bottom of the bias. I have some videos you can check out also cutting a bias in on privacy link. And if you have any specific questions , feel free to ask. I have most likely encountered it in the last 30 years of fencing! And I am happy to share! I also do backstops, Iron , wood , vinyl, farm fencing, handrails, prison fencing, and dog kennels. This is my friends company called Goodwood fence. Keep learning it will get easier!
