I have easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials "do it yourself" (DIY) videos to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers and zero turn mowers.
I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.
Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed whacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, zero turn mower, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.
My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.
I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.
I have the largest Small Engine Repair Video Library on KZread and the entire internet with over 1200 videos, just GOOGLE "DONYBOY73"!
I want "DON THE SMALL ENGINE DOCTOR" on KZread to save you time, frustration and most importantly, MONEY with my HOW-TO videos!

I bought a rather large Craftsman Bearing Puller back when Craftsman was sold at Sears and Craftsman quality was the best it's ever been. I hadn't used it much, but it came in handy pulling tractor mower spindle bearings, at least the one I could get out. The other wouldn't budge, no matter what I tried. I was adding Zerk fittings because these had no way to grease them. I wanted to get the bearings out to to be able to easily get all the drilling debris out from inside, not to remove a seal from one side. A KZreadr made a video proving that the grease still comes out of the outside seal, and disassembled the spindle again, and popped a seal to show that grease did get inside to protect the ball bearings, even with both seals on both sealed bearings. I don't have a welding machine, but it sure is cool how you made that one! Thanks, Don. You're the man.

Brilliant bodge. My only concern is the bolt heads cut into L shape. Is it a risky weak point? Would hardening help? I wouldn't want to see a setup go 'pop.' Bolts are made to be strong there, I'm just excessively safety-OCD.

He will find an 'Aladdin's Cave' of wonderous engineering as he begins to remove one thing after the next. Some he'll even pass on down to his Grandchildren. Hello Don, Nice job. If you got some basic tools like a welder and a grinder and some scrap steel, you can usually make the tools that you need. I think alot of this ingenuity is lost due to the availability of cheap chinese tools. Of course the Chinese tools have their advantages too. What is that little grinder your using with the roloc flapdiscs?

I guess you do not have a Harbor Freight there? I purchased a set of pullers at a yard sale a few years ago for $5 and they work great. I know they came from H.F. but sufficient for what I do. I did find this video interesting. I hate making tools if I do not have to. I found I had to working on lower end units for outboard motors. Seems every model requires a special puller. I threaded rod with various sized washers worked just fine. I got out of boat motor repair due to limited yard size. I do not want a bunch of boats in my yard and neather did the neighbors.

Nice work but can I make a suggestion regarding safety ? You shouldn't wear gloves when operating a bench grinder because if they get jammed up in the grinding wheel that can pull your hands into the wheel & rip your fingers off. In every workplace that I have worked at wearing gloves while operating a bench grinder is a no no !
