    Thanks Dugan! Yes, I built the A/V cabinet myself. After searching over hundreds of stands out there, I just couldn't find the right one for everything I needed it to do or go. Mostly because of the subs and wanting them to be built in and together/part of the rest of the gear :). Sounds like you have some nice equipment going on yourself. Have fun with it all and good luck on your plans & setup!!

    Really nice! I like how you added a "Now Playing" stand for the movie case. Not only does it give you a place to put it, it also shows what movie is playing. Nice touch.

    Thank you! Things had really changed since the 2nd video, and i never got around to creating a 3rd video to show the completion once again. Sadly, we ended up selling the house. But...a new Strantz Theatre is in the works!! Our new house has an unfinished basement with a large clean slate. I will be constructing it completely from scratch from the studs on up!

    I work for a Water Softener company. And after starting yet another project in the Movie Room last week, I could say it's turned into a part time job for me this year! I have started the daunting task of painting the white ceiling tiles & white tracks of the screen side a flat, dark chocolate brown. Nothing should be white in your Movie Room other than the screen :). It has been quite the task so far and very time consuming but, the results so far have been well worth the effort!!

  • @raywatts7689
    @raywatts76892 жыл бұрын

    Nice set up, like the way you did the video, awesome music. I see you have a white ceiling very close to the top of the screen. I had similar but not as close. The light bouncing back onto my screen caused a loss in contrast at the top, had to cover that part of the ceiling in black velvet to stop light hitting screen.

    For sound. Mostly due to the subs in systems. That's a lot of bass/sound traveling through the room and shaking up everything! You want to make sure everything is as tight & secure as possible because of the lows. Same as you do for the walls and if you were to built a stage up front in your theater. Some have gone as far as using sand in their seat risers and stages to really take care of the "empty or hollow" spaces.

    Overall I love many things about your video...from the conceptual considerations and presentation of the video itself, to the work and choices that you made regarding construction, style, media/video, and audio....Critically speaking I personally didn't care for the Ashley furniture choices that you made....I respect that it is your personal choice, I just don't care for them myself. Perhaps because I have my eye on a different set of media/theater seating options (the Valencia Tuscany Home Theater Seating | Top Grain Nappa Leather, Power Reclining, Power Lumbar Support, With Power Headrest) I know they are a bit expensive, but I guess, as I said. it is a matter of personal preference. ....Nonetheless, I am subscribing...and Thank you again for uploading

    Jigar Patel I don't remember exactly..but long! Same for the hdmi cable. The cord for power wouldn't matter with the length since it's only supplying power, but I was worried about the length of the hdmi cable. I bought a decent one to remedy any potential issues and it's been running perfectly for 2 years now.

    Greg Strantz I will try an extension cord method. I only worry because I don't have drop ceiling like you do, I have drywall ceiling with popcorn texture.

    The drop ceiling definitely gave me the options for this room. Good Luck!!

    Are you referring to the first or second video? Actually, I think they were the same "couches" in both videos. I changed them out during another major renovation that was to be a 3rd video. The ones shown then, were from Menards! I ended up getting individual reclining seats, with 3 up front and 4 in the back with armrests/storage for each seat.

    I see the audio is still muted. Such a bummer. As Lucas says.."Audio is 50% of the video watching experience"..

    I ran into a few issues, as well as changing a few more things along the way. Again. I did start another video awhile back, and hoping to edit and finish it up one day!

    Thanks everyone! I appreciate it. Yeah, the back tables are great and work well for the room. I have also added a few more projects for myself in the room that i hope to complete in the coming weeks...so another video is on the horizon :)

    Thanks Mike! I think around $10,000 at the time of this 1st video. With the 2nd video posted last May and a 3rd and Final video in the works, the cost keeps rising....

    Sadly I never got around to it. It was definitely ‘finished’ to my liking. 120” AT screen and a finished ceiling. Then we sold the house. Now, I’m building a new theatre from the ground up! Started a few weeks ago...
