Just the video I have spent a lot of time looking for. Easy and down to earth! Thank you, Sir. Subbed!

I found there were a lot of videos out there on how to do it but a lot of information seemed to be off or inconsistent. Good luck with the project and thanks for the sub.

Have you checked the output waveform on those wall warts? Most are crap! Need a well filtered 12v supply. Heard of alot of guys bricking there ECMs with wall warts.

Should I just cut thr pcm connector out of my old harness(donor) ?

Actually.. that’s a good idea.. I bought a separate (stand alone) harness. I’m gonna give it a try, I already have a 12v 1A power supply. So I’d actually just need an OBD port, which I’ll check if the old harness has, doubtful but I’m gonna check

I'm looking for a PCM pinout/wiring diagram for a 2004 Cadillac Escalade in order to make a bench harness and programming. Do you have any insight if your GM truck might be a similar setup as the Cadillac since they are both considered trucks? Thanks

The PCM should be a P59 but confirm looking at the sticker on it before doing any work.

@@toolshedadventures @everyone yes it is a p59. The sticker has hardware number 12583660 . I just want to confirm that the wiring doesn't fry my PCM if 12v is applied to the wrong pins on the PCM. I did a search with the hardware number 12583660 and it comes up with that PCM was used in 2004-2007 Chevy Silverado. Mine came out of a Cadillac as I had mentioned.

If I was to add it all up I would say somewhere around $50-60 CAD

@@parker12c I bought mine from amazon with these same connections on the OBD connector, but on the PCM connector they have the ground wired to pin#60 which I think should be pin#1 as the "toolshed adventures" has shown. So make sure your connections are the same as the video.

That power supply is garbage! Spend a little bit of money and buy a legitimate bench power supply! Also that wall adapter would shut itself down before it ever popped that one amp fuse the fuses rated for 1 amp you could easily put two plus amps into it before it would even think about popping and that wall adapter can't output that much current so the fuse is useless
