Wonderful! The basic chevron bracelet is the first beading project I ever did in a class, and I was hooked on beading. I've collected a lot of chips because I love the natural stones and sometimes I put a few in spiral or even peyote bracelets, but I absolutely love this, using so many together really shows off the pretty gemstones, and the special beads as accents just adds to them. Thank you!

Gina!! I did it!! OMG I have never made anything even remotely like this before, never had even done ladder stitch! I watched your video about 120 times and wrote down each step until it FINALLY clicked! Now I definitely made some boo boos along the way (skipped rows, put on an extra flower, etc.), but that’s the nice thing about this bracelet...you can sort hide the mistakes. Now the back of the bracelet is NOT pretty, but that’s ok. I’m really proud of myself and just wanted to thank you for the inspiration, this fabulous tutorial, and for pushing me way out of my comfort zone! If you want to see it, I’m posting on my IG (giving you full credit for the design, of course.) newdani68. Thank you! 🤗😁❤️ Danielle

Thank you for this video. I did one with an assorted strand of chips. With many irregular sizes, it was tougher than I thought it would be. Keeping it snug was a challenge and I needed to go back through some of them to tighten them up, but it came out nicely in the end. Worth the effort. Of course, you made it look effortlessly with your talent and expertise. Your work is beautiful.

I absolutely love those bellflower beads and need to order every color right now! I get the rotating Beads of the Month box thanks to you and I used the green aventurine gemstone chips they gave me because I didn't have a clue what to do with them before now. I made this bracelet and was a little confused along the way but figured it out and the second half of the bracelet is beautiful! I didn't have the bellflowers so I used some lily flowers from the Beading School Academy tulip box (also thanks to you) and it looks pretty nice. Thank you so much for your amazing tutorials, I love being able to make such pretty jewelry! 🤩

Love the “crazy gemstone” comment - so true. Also I had to rip it apart once - they were flying. The second time I’m not rushing it. I just want that thing on my arm it’s so pretty. Using tiger eye and some 8mm Jet violet fire polished beads from Bead Crate. It’s turning out lovely.

Hi Gina, I’m so happy you did this tutorial! It’s another beautiful project of yours that I’m so excited to try...just nervous because I’ve never done anything even close to it! I have a question about seed beads...there are so many to choose from, and when a pattern calls for size 11 or 15, I’m not sure if the SHAPE of the bead matters? I’m just so new to seed beads, I know some are roundish and some are more square cut. Do you recommend a specific “type” for this bracelet! Thank you so much! Danielle from CA.

  • @ORCHIDandOPAL

Hi Danielle! So glad it is helpful for you. You will want to use regular rounded seed beads, not the cylinders, or "Delica" beads. The seed beads (rounded) are less expensive, and will give you the look of the bracelet that I showed in the tutorial. Hope that helps!

Hi, I keep watching and then have more questions! I definitely want to make the bracelet with the bellflowers, I love them. But, I’m eager to start this and don’t have any. Could you suggest what other beads would work in their place? I have a lot of 4mm crystal bicones, but I know those don’t always work in some beading patterns. Should I stick to a certain shape or size of bead? Thanks Gina, I really appreciate your guidance!

  • @ORCHIDandOPAL

Hi Danielle, you could use anything in the center, really. In the video I showed the mushroom beads and stars used as well. 4mm bicones would work, and even if you had beads in a 5-6mm they'd probably work as well. Thanks for watching! :)

Hi Cindy! This probably wouldn't be the best design for someone who is brand new to bead-weaving, but it's not too hard, otherwise. I would say go another 8 rows if you want it a full inch bigger. Have you tried my previous chevron stitch tutorial yet? That one might be a good one to start with, then tackle this one. I'm sure you can do it, though! Thanks for watching! Hope it turns out beautiful for you. :)

Hi. Can you tell me if I can make this bracelet just completely with gemstone chips instead of using another bead down the middle? Thank you!

Hi Amy! It’s possible, but may be very frustrating to attach the top chip beads since they are all so irregular. Hope that helps! 💜

Gina absolutely beautiful and stunning!! Thanks so much for a beaded tutorial using gemstone chips as I have them in tons of gems. I also have the Czech bell flowers in a few colors including 1 that would match any chip. I also myself have a UFO bracelet with netting and carnelian chips. Lol I had to take it apart so that's why it's a UFO. I have a question about how many times to go thru your ending loops for your clasp. I usually go thru until I can't fit my needle thru anymore. By doing this am I actually weakening the beads by going thru so much and having it really tight? Thanks so much for another great easy to follow and understand tutorial. Please keep them coming!! I just love you and your wonderful creations. P.s. sorry so long. Your new friend from Florida Melissa Doucette

Thanks so much, Melissa! I'm glad you enjoyed this tutorial. I would say there really isn't a need to go through more than 2-3 times if using a sturdy thread such as Fireline, especially if making several half hitch knots along the way. Going through so many times that it is tight will certainly create the potential for weakening the bead at that location. It's a great question! :)

@@ORCHIDandOPALGina thanks so much for answering my question. Now I know not to go thru so many times especially since I do use fireline. Again very much appreciated. Much love

Hi, I'm just wondering. I don't have any 8.0 beads can I use 6.0 and would using the bigger bead make a difference in how many rows?

Hi Candace! You can definitely use 6/0's on the bottom. Just try increasing the beads on the top by say 2 to start, and adjust if you need to. Thanks for watching!

You may be able to make it work, you'd just need more of them per row, etc. The gemstone bead placement may also need to be changed up. 💜

That's a possibility, Pam. I had tightened things up pretty well too, though. You could add additional jump rings, and a larger clasp, perhaps, if you want to salvage what you have made. 💜💜💜

It's made exactly the same way as the pink one, except substitute a different color 8/0 seed bead for the base (something that coordinates with tigereye), and substitute mushroom beads (or whatever other accent bead you're using) for the flowers. Also substitute gold-tone findings for the silver, and gold 15/0 seed beads to make the end loops, and to anchor the gemstone chips.
