DIY Flaked Out Skateboard Deck: How to Paint Sparkle Using LiME LiNE Metal Flake

Welcome to Time Warp Custom Paint! On this channel, I am dedicated to helping ordinary people learn the art of Automotive custom Paint. Whether you want to spruce up your car, truck, motorcycle, skateboard, or any other art piece, I've got you covered!
In this video, I will show you how to prep a wooden skateboard for a custom paint job. We start by degreasing the surface and scuffing it down to ensure proper adhesion for the paint to stick to. Then, I will demonstrate how to mix LiMELiNE black basecoat, thinned out with urethane Reducer for a sprayable consistency. Using a 1.3 tip size spray gun, I will apply 3 to 4 coats of black basecoat with a short wait time between each coat.
Next, it's time to mix up the metal flake! LiMELiNE metal flake can be mixed into Clear basecoat or 2K clearcoat. Personally, I prefer to use 2K clearcoat as it creates a smoother texture. Once the surface is dry, the metal flake will land and dry faster with clear basecoat than with 2K clearcoat. However, using 2K clearcoat allows the flakes to lay smooth, making the prep work after the clear dries much easier. This is because the flake would have laid down smoother with the 2K clearcoat rather than the Clear Basecoat.
After these steps, I continue the customization process by applying 2 to 3 more thick coats of regular clearcoat, with a short waiting period in between each coat. This helps to smooth out the texture. Once dry, I wait 24 hours before sanding and continuing with the customization process using LiME LiNE tape, lime candies, and other fantastic products made by LiME LiNE, a trusted and quality brand. You can find LiME LiNE products on Amazon.

I didn't think clear coat would be flexible enough for skateboards. I always used water based poly finish for boards because I figured the clear coat would crack
