    Such a clever way to do this! My daughter bought bunch of jeans for her kids at a community wide garage sale and asked me to hem some without cutting them off. So when I found this video, I was thrilled! It works great….just like magic!

    Does this work on wide leg pants?

  • @nikyakuan

    @nikyakuan

    Жыл бұрын

    The problem with wide leg pants is that they are widest at the bottom. So if you're taking off a lot of length, you'll end up with a hem that's much wider than the section you're trying to sew it to. So, it won't match up right. You're better off cutting them down and sewing a new hem.

    This is useless. I just tried this. At the end it all just pop back open because at the end she didn't tie the knot to secure stitching. And was never told in the video how to tie the thread when done or how to secure the stitching so it doesn't come off. What a waste of time!

    Sorry, but I don't really see the point of this. Maybe if someone doesn't own scissors? Or they think they will grow? (good for kids jeans). But otherwise, the original hem doesn't show with this method, the orange stitching is hidden. Might as well cut, fold and stitch the regular way. In my opinion.

    Just start the stitch 1-2 mm above the original hem stitches. Problem solved. You'll anyway see a tiny fold with any of the non-cutting methods. But you won't see the second stitch. Works for me. The original stitches are still visible outside while the fold plus inner stitch shortens the leg.
