oh i LOVE your tutorials! i did not see this video before i made 6 without a zipper. my daughter asked why there was no zip, i can now show her! it was easier to hear without the music. i go to the thrift store ever so often and get very nice printed shirts and denims for these lovely purses i give as presents. thank you so much for reigniting my love for sewing!

I've been watching several tutorials on how to make a jeans tote bag and have found yours to be the most thorough and nicely made of all of them. I wish I had seen yours first!

Hi! I did one following this tutorial and all the linked ones. I used a pair of a tiny woman denim short. I was afraid the resulting bag would be a bit small, but it is just perfect. Wow!!! I really like this innovation you made on the original design! It gives me hope that I can learn to do a zipped bag like this too! The only other changes I'd made would be to add inner pockets, nothing with zips, just open flap pockets. I've made quite a few of the previous tutorial version bags, making them cross body style instead of the two handled beauties you've fashioned. Thank you for once again making something hard look easy enough that I think I can duplicate it for myself! I can't wait to try these techniques! Very impressed, maybe the next one would included inner pockets on the lining so we'd have a place to put our checkbooks and cell phones? I love this tutorial! Thank you for making it!!!

oh Izzy! i love learning from you how to make these purses! they are so much fun and i love to see the face of the recipient!. loved learning from you how to insert zip. for those of you out there looking for ways to upcycle, i asked my local thrift store for any jeans they did not want, and you would not believe the response! i got SOOO many usable denims, (with lots of bling) i had to ask them to STOP calling me. and it was a perfect place to get the material for the lining. we have quite a rodeo culture around here and plenty of gorgeous cowgirl shirts for the picking! have fun

Thank you for this and the first two videos! Your techniques are both easy to understand and easy to implement. I particularly like the way that you lined the bags by attaching the lining at the gusset corners. My first time seeing that method.I am also impressed with your use of the fabrics, even making a very nice apron out of the left overs of the first bag. Thanks again. This was a great video! You are a good teacher. I have had a pair jeans and fabric for years to make a purse, but didn’t know how to make it until I found your video and I made it this afternoon. I didn’t install a zipper but it turned out great!

I love this bag and the way you went threw the steps in the tutorial.Professional.

I had a bit of trouble with folding the lining in before I hand stitched--I think I screwed something up when I stitched the lining seams--had difficulty getting the pull end of the zipper to lay correctly, but it finally worked with me sufficiently to make a smooth line to hand sew...I'm just finishing the sash this morning and I was right--it is soo cute! I already have the next pair of jeans waiting to be transformed into something wonderful! Thanks for the great video and the fun I've had making this! :-)

I have been a seamstress all my life and have made so so so many of these bags. Some of the cutest ones I ever made were out of little girls designer jeans. They were just the sweetest.
