So far it’s going great! No I’ve built two built bus’s when you start on the bathroom you put the shower in and the toilet, the sink, and the hot water tank all in that way you will use less pipes

Jack you're an awesome kid I'm sure you make your mama and daddy very proud for being so young and so smart and knowledgeable
For painting the thing. The hood is where you can take the most time and get the best results. You could set up a little paint booth in the garage for it, prep it, prime it, and spray it like that. For the rest I'd really use a roller brush. It's not going to be perfect, for sure. But, if the nose is close to perfect it'll grab all of the attention!

Great idea! I think the hood will also be the hardest to prep

@@SpeedBumpGarage You could also farm that out! I doubt a paint shop would mind something so small with such a quick turn around. If the price was right, it would save you a lot of time and effort.

Great job guys, mom and Jack did great job on the floor. Looking forward to following your progress on the bus. Also, looking forward to seeing Jack’s videos on growing stuff. Be safe out there, God Bless.

Hey dad, just a tip on sealing the wires with heatshrink, if you heat the shrink really hot, part of it will seal around the wire plastic, some will be a tube which you can crush with a pair of pliers and the heatshrink will seal to itself. It prevents anything getting down that tube and possible at the copper. :)
Hi Jack..hi Aj. You two and your Momma are great helpers ❤

So glad y'all decided to do a camper with it. May I suggest looking at pop-up camper layouts for floor plan ideas. Also, tractor paint is a very economical way to cover all that yellow. So much cheaper . Can't wait to see what you come up with. Family projects are always the most rewarding.

Back in the early 80's I found a 1951 International short bus that had been turned into a camper. It had a Chevy 283 with a truck 4-speed and a 2-speed rearend. I did a lot of work on it, but the outside windows were replaced with camper windows and the rest were covered with sheet metal. It had a stove with an oven, dinette, a double overhead bed, two bunks in the back and a bathroom with a shower. That thing was crazy cool and would fly down the highway easily at 70-75 mph. My family and I had a fun time with it, and we went all over western Colorado when we lived there. You have unlimited possibilities! Have fun, great video!

Hi! 😊
I would sure go for a sub-floor giving a few access panels..Good for keeping wiring hidden thus having a clean look and also able to add any accessories later on that you may want ..They make a thick tar like wide strips that adhere to the ceiling to deaden the excess sound you will get when driving it..Thats what they use in auto assembly plants before the headliner goes in..i would use those for sure..You have Jack on the Job so i am pretty sure he will have your back on anything you want to do..Awesome project..can't wait to see your end result

Kent, Wow! What a crew you have! My suggestions to start would be to build a floor structure and cover it with removable plywood panels. Make it deep enough to go over the wheel wells, give room for plumbing, electrical and insulation. I can see y'all going to car shows pulling a trailer with a rat rod loaded on it and staying in air-conditioned luxury right on site.

Great job to the boys and Crystal. All the stuff they did looked like it was really tedious and hard on the knees but it came out great so far. From a viewing standpoint though, this looks like a super fun project. And I love how you are trying to involve the viewers. Me either lol
Since you are only going to use it for the weekends. You might want to put the bathroom on the back portion of the bus. (You can always add a metall carry cage to the back to store a water tank/Generator and or bikes/mini bikes kids stuff.) Also may want to invest in solar panels for the roof and maybe a portable power station like bluetti, eco-flow, or anchor or others (I guarantee you that Jack can get one to sponsor his page Since he's a bigger (more than 20k) channel. You and Crystal can use the fold out couch and you could make bunk beds on the same side as the couch and put dining set behind the driver's seat and kitchen behind that. Use the wheel well to put mini fridge (so it'll be raised up a bit higher than mini - less bending). The reason I suggest the bathroom in the back is because bathrooms on busses are very tight and uncomfortable. Save yourself the heartache and headache of wishing it was bigger. You can always make it a bit smaller and use some of that space for water heaters, water storage, batteries, solar set up, etc. But make sure Crystal has enough room to sit on the toilet spread her legs all the way and wipe her backside if needed. Because if momma ain't happy ain't no one gonna be happy. Lol.

Ain’t that the tooth lol. Thanks for the tips
I really enjoy watching your videos and how you family is involved in the projects.
Jack sure is a fantastic worker. You might was to recouping some of your money by selling the seats if the cushions are in good condition. For instance, a cafe or dinner with a school theme might want to use them or waiting rooms for pediatric dental patients might use them. I have seen some KZread sites on RV conversions. Keeping in mind that your conversion would be for weekend or vacation use would require a different floor plan than one used for permanent living. Coming up with a plan is exciting.

Y'all have a great idea on fixing the bus up to travel around on weekends 😁. I took my 3 kids around within our state many years ago but we only had a station wagon. Great for lots of blankets laid on the floor in back and they had great views while I drove around to visit great places ❣️ we have great memories of Arizona ❤❤❤❤. You will have your own 👍

I just started watching after AFH sent me here. I've got a 2005 Bluebird 12 Window just like yours, as well as 2010 BB and 2000 Chevy BB both Handy busses with the side lift door and I think 7 windows IIRC. Also a little 6 Window BB International and 1 2002 Thomas Freightliner. Jack has made mad progress already and doing exactly like I did, but I was by myself unfortunatley, by clamping about 5 vice grips on the bottom then going back up to the top to remove them 5, them back down under it for 5 more and repeat til I got all the seats out. Not fun.
Cut the Bus-V wall on both sides so you can extend the walls out when parked.

Put caster wheels on few seats to have for family seating , much better then folding chairs of any kind. Those seats will be Super long lasting n strong.

Wow a lot of progress happened so quickly, just great! How about three quarter sleeper “chairs” for kids to sleep on & a larger one at the end of the bus that opens up to a double bed for parents, then all can be folded up in the daytime, a small breakfast nook somewhere that seats the four of you for meals, I will think of more, but want to ask, if you go camping, are there ablutions that can be used by campers, if so no need to take up space with a bathroom, maybe a small kitchen area would be better??? Oh this is such fun, makes me wish I was young again as I enjoyed camping when we had a caravan! Look forward to seeing the next one. Love from me in Port Elizabeth Eastern Cape South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤❤❤
