DIY Electric Bike Conversion - 2000W 48V ebike conversion kit.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I convert my 49cc 2-stroke pocket bike to a bike with a 2000w electric motor.
I ordered a 2000w electric motor kit and a 48v battery and I will install it onto my picket bike and give it a test.
In a future video I will make a diy battery pack for the bike. One that is stronger than the cheap pack I used in this video.
Apart from that battery I’m really happy with the build.

Magnificent conversion, e bike kit and creative installation that's clean and powerful! Happy fathers day your rock!. I have an MTB full suspension bike with a 3000W motor and want to add more power as I use it to ride in the dirt. My set up: Cyclone 3000W motor, 48V Kelly controller and 52V battery, Any recommendations are well appreciated.

thats the exact same set is mine but i didn't get a manual.... where did you connect the ignition switch to? maybe explain the whole wiring if possible :p seems like the netherlands btw hehe kleine update : the motor turns at low rpm until i throttle up it cuts out completly, have to power off and on again, white learning wires make it turn constantly

Probably a lot better power to weight ratio then the 49cc 2 stroke engine.

It has a lot of power right from the start. For now the battery is really weak. I will change that soon to a strong “diy” one. With the 49cc I always had problems with taking off and burning clutches. (Maybe because those bikes are intended for kids 😆) But I see they have newer designs nowadays with something like a gearbox attached to the 2-stroke engine. I will try that one day on another project.

and cleaner haha, the engines are dirty but powerful its the poo built centrifugal clutch that lets them engines down,if it wasn't the pull starer breaking it was the clutch to fail first so we use to jam pennies in between the clutch shoes and the bell then bump start them, this also worked for when the pull cord failed but it destroys the shoes and rarely but even the whole clutch system

Don’t buy that battery. It’s really bad, like a scam. I did a video on how to make your own battery.

Do you think upgrading to a 72V 2000W setup would be a significant improvement? I just bought a Gazelle KDX for my 3yo, but its just 36v 500w. Even for a 3 year old, thats way too slow. I want it to be super fast and zippy, but also have different speed modes for safety.

should work good just make sure to get an adequite battery as thats usually a big hold back for these builds.

great build, but that motor seams slow, and its not the batteries as lithium doesn't drop volts like a lead acid, lithium just dies when the pack depletes to 40v or the first cell in the pack drops to 2.5v causing the bms to shut down , ive had my exact same motor and controller screaming at top end on a low 48v battery reading about 47v instead of the fully charged 58.4v, also did you put a three way switch on the speed plug, i found out (after many years of leaving the speed plug unplugged with no issues) that some controllers mid range is in the unplugged mode meaning your running at about half the power? also beef up the tracer and buzz bar on the controllers board allowing more amps to pass through the controller there are plenty of YT vids showing you how to

Thank you for the information 🙌 a while ago my motor (or controller) stopped working. I didn’t have time to replace it yet. But you are right, that motor should produce more power. I’m hoping to soon make another build, also on a bigger bike. Have a good day 👍

@@BobBee giz a shout if you get stuck, i'm not the best but i know enough and i learn quickly and i have a few projects on the go. I have been building all sort's mostly in the electrical and mechanical for roughly 20 years and if i can help i will. and it will either be the throttle or the controller. the motors are hardy. if you can get the controller to me i will happily take a look inside and see what the issue is and also beef up your tracers for you free of charge.oh and i never said but this is a boss vid, well done, i don't have the guts to do YT content lol. take care
