If I can make it sink (glue it with stones). Do I still need a week to let it sit in the water? Can I let it sit for 2 hours, then remove the outer layer, then let it sit 1-2 days then boil it. Will this work?

I used mango tree wood and i think it's becoming toxic in my tank and i has removed it reason i am using Anti fungus in the tank
