DIY DRIFT CAR ALIGNMENT ON 240SX
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This is the correct way to measure your alignment using string at home or at the track. Please do not listen to those other videos of people wrapping string around their tires and bumpers...
Tried to keep it short but there's some good information and content.
Second time out in the new build at open drift Evergreen Speedway.

Probably the best video I’ve found that explains setting up a box around the car that is square with the chassis. Way easier than having to run plumb bobs all around the car. Thanks!

SK8R6593 glad you found this useful!
Very clear video I dig it. I'm a mechanic so I do alignments all the time but I also drift and my car won't make it up to my rack at work (stupid hotboi problems) and I don't wanna pay some guy so this really gives me a good idea on knocking it out before my next track day. Good stuff
I followed your instructions and my alignment came out amazing! It was one of the coolest experiences doing it myself and watching the tires move on the grease plates. Thanks for a great instructional video!

Awesome!! Glad to hear people are using this method!
Great no-nonsense video man. I just finished doing modded knuckles and more angle on the front of my s13 and have always wanted to try a string alignment. Great explanation. I look forward to the full alignment video you talked about! Keep it up man.

Kyle Kestle no worries! I'm jealous that you can drive your car this time of year. A glorious inch of wisconsin powder keeps me from driving mine even if I had it together until mid April...
You can also find the angle by calculating for the missing angle by doing inverse of tangent (Difference of measurements divided by the wheel diameter) in this case it would be [tan ^-1(.25in/17in)= .84 degrees]
Thanks for the vid man. Actually stoked to go mess around with my alignment!
awsome vid broski keep'em comeing !
Awesome explanation gonna try this after work 👍
Great video. Hope you upload more in the future!
I'm actually doing my alignment tomorrow lol. Sweet video!!!

THANK YOU~
What if you don't have a flat spot on the side of the wheel to measure Toe?

If you can borrow a set of wheels that do have a flat area you will get the best results. If you have a curved lip rim then measure from equal parts of the radius on both sides of the wheel. Like right where it meets the tire. Remember any curb rash or imperfections will throw off your measurements slightly.
What alignment shop do you go to?

I used to go to Firestone because of the lifetime option but now I've been using this string method.
that's a caliper btw
