I really enjoyed this challenge. Thank you so much for hosting it. And watching. Hope you have a great day
I love this! However my good friends have a broken shed window that they replaced with plywood. I suggested making a faux window and painting the plywood in exterior flat black paint and just using pallet wood to make the box frame and trim for the + in the center and panting in exterior white which I have as my husband is a paint sales rep; that cuts my cost down and I know it’s good quality paint.
Fabulous!!! Thanks for sharing.

Good effort on this. Loved your thought process! Just an observation, if you decide to make another one try changing the assembly order. Use a straight edge to ensure your small frames are perfectly aligned with each other, then hot glue (or a little clear silicone) your edges together. This will allow you to achieve a better fit between frames faster and easier without breakage due to the fast drying hot melt which will create gaps and extend the dimension you had from the dry fit dimension. After all the picture frames are completely assembled to each other, then measure and cut your outer wood frame parts to the exact fit of your finished assembly. Add a thin line of silicone on the perimeter edge small picture assembly then glue and nail your wood frame border together to complete the assembly and let leave it for 24 hrs if you can. Less frustrating and you will be very happy with the results! Keep crafting!!
Great job, DD! Yours looks so much better than the original, TFS. I will be trying this, btw. 😊

Looks lovely but how secure is it with only using hot glue? It’s not very strong and doesn’t last long. Why not use a stronger glue like E6000 or wood glue?
@DomesticDivaDIY

I do use gorilla glue sometimes. This one has worked out pretty good. It’s been year and a half and still all together hanging on the wall. If I was planning on moving it all the time I would definitely use a stronger glue but I knew it was going to be just hanging on the wall in the same spot so it was fine with just got glue. Thanks for watching

That is amazing. What size of wood did you use for the outside of the frame?
@DomesticDivaDIY
2 жыл бұрын
Hi there. It was 1x3. Thanks for watching
Can I ask how the length and thickness of the wood u bought from Lowe’s?
@DomesticDivaDIY
4 жыл бұрын
It is 1X3, painted trim and I cut it to the dimensions of the frame. So my suggestion to you would be to measure the frames that you will be using and by a pice that is big enough for all four sides. You might have to buy two depending how long they sell them at your store. Frames are so different I think my dimensions for three whole thing was 7x9
What are your measurements for that frame? love it!
@DomesticDivaDIY

The total size was 7X9. Thanks for watching

What are the dimensions of the wood you bought from the hardware store?
@DomesticDivaDIY
4 жыл бұрын
If my memory serves me right Top and bottom 23.5 inch sides 20.5 inch. My total size of a frame was 7x9 and I have three across two down. The dimensions depend on the picture frames you use. The wood is painted 1X3, trim.
Hi there, could you please confirm the dimensions of the wood that you used for frame and what type of wood is it? Thanks

Measure the length of your picture frames and add three inches. I can measure mine but not sure if your picture frames are the same size.

Why do people use hot glue gun for diy projects? It’s just going to come loose in a couple of days.
