A quick video on how to make and use your own dancing cane / levitation wand. This video is for my students in Avakas Smart Camps Magic Camp, but anyone with a sincere interest in magic is welcome to follow along!

    Going a half inch up also eliminates the need to drill the end and putting a metal dowel in the end to weigh it down.

    i have the rod and fishing line, but no drill or other professional equipment. is there any other way I can attach the string to the dowel? thanks

    I've seen even a single string tied to the cane work. As long as you find the right balance point, with a little practice, your cane should work great!

    What is the diameter of the center hole?

    If you want to really hide the hole (which isn't necessary) you can go all the way down to a numbered bit like a "57." But, a 1/16" bit from any hardware store is fine. :-)

    @@mackenziekid Thank you. Yeah, I thought about the 1/16 size, not necessary to hide the hole since no one will see it.
