GOOD JOB 👏
One inexpensive thing you can do for your chicken's entertainment is to buy a head of cabbage, drill a hole through it, run a thin rope through the hole, and hang it from a rafter low enough that they can peck and eat on it as it gently swings. Your coup is very nice! Loved that treat door.

Pro tip. Spray paint the hardware cloth black and it basically disappears. You can see right through it. If money is no object use the black vinyl coated. But the spray paint works amazing.

I put a solar fan on our chicken coop it has been awesome for circulation so they don't get so hot

Coming soon
I have heard that a roost built with square edge material can eventually hurt the chicken feet. When I built mine I cut small hardwood trees for roosting poles. Nice chicken pen! I like it.
Suggestion: Cut a 6" slot in front of the laying boxes and install hardware cloth from underneath, then vent the top of the laying boxes at the rear the same way. This will allow for air circulation through the laying boxes for the hens when it is hot. Hinge and install the cutouts so you can close them to keep the boxes warm when cooler weather comes on.
Awesome video.

Man, I have included several types of "enhanced input" type of stuff for them to do, and I've never once seen them even try them. They don't even care a bit about that stuff. They shrug off a xylophone, a little bell, and a swing 100%. Zero fucks given.

I'm starting to see them use the perch. But I don't plan on adding much else.
I hope your back is doing better you should make room on your deck by the pool a hot tub so when your body is sore you can get in the hot tub and your pain will go away

Tip for the little ones... we have the same setup - this year for the first time we used a small door from the nursery to the main coop. After a few days we started opening the door and the little ones start venturing out in the larger area. The good thing is that with the little door they can retreat into the nursery without the larger/older ones following. This has been working gret for us this season and the little ones start mingeling now more and more and run 'home' when a mean hen comes around.

Nice video, and cute chicks! Good job on the coop, too! I've been watching you use that blue tool to guide the pre-drill for oblique screw holes.
