DIY Cheap Water Jetter System To Unclog Pipes - How To Hydro Jet
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
How to make your own very effective water jetting tool to clean out plumbing around your house. This system is ideal for sewer lines and drainage tiles that can get clogged with mud or silt or even tree roots. The water jetter blasts the clogs away. You do need to have a gas pressure washer for this to be effective. Electric pressure washers do not have enough power. The parts used in this video are listed below. (Paid Links)

I got a $1,700 dollar estimate for a 45 foot straight shot sewer line jetter job. My husband and I bought a kit and tied it to our pressure washer. In 15 min. Job was done.😊

Did you have a camera ran to ensure you cleaned it well ?and check for any bellys within the pipe or separations?
I purchased the same hose and nozzle kit and attached it to the end of my wand as well. The only difference is I only have an electric pressure washer rated for 1.2k psi but I was still successful
I got an estimate of $650 to unclog a driveway drain. In 5 minutes, I got it unclogged with the suggested kit for ~$50. Thank you so much.

@Sam Hill $650 is on the low side for jetting. remember, this plumber pays for his hourly wages, taxes, million dollar insurance on vehicle and company, plus tools and material. $650 is not over pricing to not get the job.
I can’t believe how well this worked for me. I can’t thank you enough for making this video. My water has not drained like this since the house was new. This worked better than snaking ever could.
Thank you for the phenomenal information and tutorial. I don’t think I went with the same exact hydrojetting kit that you used but regardless, after 3 plumbers trying, the hydrojetting worked like a charm. Great advice

No plumbers you hired had water jets?
one very helpful item for using these sewer jetter kits is a foot pedal valve which you can install in place of the pressure washer gun. That way you have both hands free to manipulate the hose.

You Sir are a life saver! I've got a frozen pvc pipe that I've been trying to unclog for days! Called a plumber to snake the line. No luck. Called a septic guy to snake from the tank side. No luck. What's needed is high pressure and hot/warm water. A few bucks (already have a pressure washer) and I should be good
I am so grateful to you for saving me from the frustration of having to research a quality product to use for this. There's so much junk being sold online and it's so time consuming to sift thru what is quality and what is not. Thanks for posting this very much! I purchased thru ur link, liked and subscribed. I feel positively effusive about using this
Thank you so much for this video. Exactly what I needed! You've saved me and my family a nice wad of money.

Amazing DIY, we had to get our pipes and the main pipe cleaned last year the plumber charged us 800$ (CAN), and he recommended doing this cleaning every 3-4 years. I will try it with my pressure washer next time. thanks again

Also Jack, if you have gutter guards on those gutters and you are still getting blockages, you likely have a hole or multiple holes in the corrugated pipe underground. And you are probably getting dirt and sediment in your lines or even worse, roots. For that you would need to treat the lines with RootX or a similar product. This will dissolve and kill the roots and allow the drain to flow freely. But you will need to treat the pipe every 1-2 years.
You saved me so much money. I will buy used pressure washer and make it work
Great video, popped up in my suggestion. Don't know how KZread knew I needed to make thia
Good video. I would say though that it most always best to tackle it by going in from the downstream side of the clog if possible. Then the backward spraying jets will wash the dislodged materials on down the drain.
Great Video, That is what I am looking for. Helped me a lot. Thank you very much.
Excellent idea! I was not aware of those jetting tips. Thanks.

@@justinemorgan28 I have three different "dips" in my line, spanning 100'. It will back up into the house twice a year. I've decided to replace the line, so I never got to try it out.
Just some info for gutter pipe owners. Never use corrugated pipe for underground gutters. You see it used because it works great for French drains but not gutters. Use smooth wall pvc pipe. The ridges on corrugated pipe will catch and build up with all the dirt and whatever you can imagine that runs off your roof. Especially if you have shingled roof. Shingle granules and rock sediment will build up. Also this type of pipe is so thin it will break or crush. PVC is more solid and leaves a smooth path for nothing to get stuck.
@JackofAllMasterofNone

Very true. I've had to replace a lot of black corrugated pipe that was probably crushed when it was installed also.

schedule 40 ABS is best for this.....PVC is somewhat brittle..... ABS you can beat with a hammer and not break it.
This is just exactly what I need to clear a clog in some corrugated pipe. A commercial hydrojet would be too strong, I think, and damage this 20 year old corrugated pipe. But your solution seemed to work just fine on corrugated pipe. What a relief to discover this option!

Just be careful. Don't force it. Corrugated pipe is delicate and if crushed, this will blow right through it.

Great video! Thanks. (The last three videos “claimed” to be showing a ClogHog in action. All three videos should ZERO cloghog in it. One guy actually just showed 8 minutes of a camera pushing through his sewage line, and ended it with a claim “the cloghog cleaned it out” the end).
thanks for sharing your great hydro-jet system! that is awesome!
good video. I have been using a purchased brand and it connects to the middle of the wand. You unscrew the pipe and attach it there. It is a little easier to work with. In addition the nozzle head is much smaller/shorter. This feature is the most important part because it allows it to work its way around corners in smaller pipe which is what needed.

Because you are outside, you could also use a blow bag on the end of your garden hose. It doesn’t have as much pressure but would clear a simple blockage. I love your video, thank you.

I owned a business that made septic tanks for 19 years. This will break up small roots only. Use root-X to kill the roots. (Copper sulfate). Might hurt trees or shrubs if their main roots are in the pipe.

As an update: I received my hose, nozzle, and adapter and went to work on a waxy accumulation clog in the kitchen. Ive cleared this issue in the past with a drill snake, no fun. The hyrojet setup blasted thru the clog and washed it away. Thanks again Jack, best $45 I ever spent!
Very Well Done Sir! Good Job.
CAN BE DONE WITH AN ELECTRIC PRESSURE WASHER: I bought the suggested items from the link but the adapter part for wand end was arriving too late and my main sewer drain was backed up for a few days but I was determined not to waste another $60 bucks renting a snake that would clear it. So I went to Home Depot and got a 1/4 in quick connect kit and disconnected the part that was the same as my washer wand end and bought a separate double female coupling to attach the high pressure hose to end of wand. Cost an additional $20. I decided to see if my wimpy Sun Joe SPX3000 2030 PSI 1.76 GPM Electric Pressure Washer, 14.5-Amp would do the job in spite of the video saying it wouldn't since I knew the root clog was only about 2 ft from the access. With the fancy mushroom head attachment it was pitiful pressure. So I took it off and added the part from the Quick connect kit that I had removed (which is the same as the end of the wand) and attached it to the end of the pressure hose and then attached my pressure washer attachment that is the strongest one I had (yellow nozzle). Bingo! full pressure on a flexible hose that cleared the drain. I did have to hand feed it since there are no reverse propulsion streams on it so I used a 6 gallon shop vac to clean it out first. It worked great and was fast. I'm relieved I didn't need to buy a gas powered pressure washer. I may not have demolished the roots with this method and I will see how long it lasts but at least I can do again without forking out more money. Thanks for the video. I hope my adventures help someone else. I was nearly inspired to make my own : )

Thank you SO MUCH !! I have a similar partial restriction due to accumulates shingle granules and the drain pipe runs 40 ft under a concrete driveway. I received a $650 estimate and will try this first with my power washer. I'm thinking it may take some time but it should work. Thanks again !!!!

I've got a stuck 1" rubber bladder in my 2" outside overflow drain, plumber tried to cut/snake it out, no luck, would this procedure work for my problem, thankyou?
Great job.
Would that be safe for indoor plumbing? Like a clogged drain pipe coming of the kitchen sink
I purchased the hydro jetting package and used it yesterday. Presumably the corsage pins are for clearing out the tiny holes on the hydro jet nozzles as I quickly learned as the forward jet nozzle clogged within 5 minutes of using it. My question is how to clear out the forward jet nozzle hole when the corsage pin doesn't do the job?
Nice explanation. I have a pressure washer with a PSI max of 1350, is that enough pressure to clean a sewer? (not Clogged)
Exelente donde se puede comprar la manguera,el niple,y la punta por favor si fueras tan amable

Thanks for the video
My pressure jet washer has only 120 bar(close to 2000psi) on it. Is that enough to unclog a kitchen basin drain?
Good job! Do you have a list of parts required and where to get all the parts from. Thanks
Beautiful
the water jet will clean out any residue built up on the pipes?
Can you let me know what the part is that you replaced the nozzle on the end of your lance is called and where did you get it thank you
Thank you very much for making this video. 👍👍👍 You provided all the information I need in a nice, concise fashion. The only change I'm making is to use the Jet Snake because of its ability to better navigate tight turns and its overall quality. It's much more expensive, but it should perform better and last longer plus it's made in the USA. What's the cost of having a pro to do it? The Jet Snake is much much cheaper than hiring a pro.
Very good Thank you
Big thanks!!!

well, did it work?
Would a 2000 PSI electric pressure washer be good enough for cleaning sewer? Thanks!
thanks was looking for something like this.
What is your psi to your pressure washer, I think a swivel head for a nozzle we do a better job at cleaning.
Genius!
hey, you suggest a shut off valve on the pressure line of your ordinary power washer: this is slam dunk to kill your pump. With no way for the fresh water to escape, the pump will within shortest time overheat and fry. Higher end power washers have at least a loop that allows water circulating through the pump to provide cooling.
Hello jack will this powerful for an electric pressure washer
Thank you so much
Think it’ll work on a frozen line?
Is it OK to connect with m22 to 1/4 inch jetter hose directly on the gun without lance?
So we have a kitchen sink clogged, we live in a stacked townhouse where we share the pipes with the neighbor. If I buy a gas pressure washer where do I get the water from ? From a garden hose ? If so where do I connect the garden house to ?
I’m Looking to hydro jet my main drain, what type of pressure water you suggest? Electrical or Gas and also how many PSIs? How many PSI you Reccomend? Trying to get tree roots out that’s keep Coming back every year
Yep, septic is what i need this for.
If you also put a garden hose in the drain while you are jetting it, it will help flush the debris down the line.
