DIY CEDAR COLUMN WRAP: HOW TO WRAP A SUPPORT POST ON A BUDGET: EASY DIY HOME IMPROVEMENT
WELCOME BACK! Today is another episode on our farmhouse fix up. My husband is showing you how to easily add some curb appeal to your house by wrapping your support posts with wood. This is a low cost project and an easy DIY. Total for the wood was about $50 dollars and it was well worth it! We are definitely not professionals, but hope you can learn a few things from our video. Tomorrow night I'm making one of your $5 meals, Sausage Stir Fry. Cut up potatoes, sausage, zucchini, and green beans and of course, Uncle Chris seasoning.
Here's an idea... at the end, show the final product, next to a picture of the metal pole. In my opinion, that gives a better feeling for how much better it looks and how much it was worth the effort and money. Thanks for all you do!
Deck screws would work as well.
Nice but the bottom shouldn't touch the floor to prevent moisture so wood won't warp.

what color stain did you use?
the only thing Id suggest is leaving 1 inch at the base and putting stone, brick, or concrete at the base (to prevent rot). I also would leave that room for seasonal wood expansion so it doesnt expand and break your carport.
Now the shutters and posts make sense together, very beautiful
