DIY Canopy with Fairy Lights 🌟
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Hello! Today I have a fairly simple and easy DIY square canopy with string lights for you all today. This was very easy to make and it wasn't that expensive. Before I thought about making it myself, I looked up some online and they were all too expensive (and horrible quality) so I decided to bring the tool belt out and do it myself. I hope this canopy tutorial helped you out and tag me on instagram so I can see your work if you end up making it #pastelitas This canopy is such a game changer because it makes your room look like the coveted tumblr rooms with string lights! Subscribe for more DIYs and don't forget to comment down below for more video suggestions! Thanks~♥
Main materials used
White Muslin Cotton~ less than a dollar per yard at Joann's !
String lights~ www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01...
1 1/4 cup hooks I got at Walmart for only a buck for three hooks!

Wow, imagine this done in a whole room with white silk satin, white silk voile and cloth of gold, with loads more fairy lights. Or a tent in the woods hung with those fabrics. What a sumptuous sight that would be to behold!

Thanks so much for this tutorial, here are some tips that helped me :) - if your lights aren't very bright you may want to get a sheer fabric instead of cotton - use safety hooks because they have a latch to keep the light from falling, so you don't have to go through the extra effort of tying the light to the hook with fishing line -make sure to be very gentle with the ceiling hooks; don't pull down on it or else the hook will fall
I used your video for my granddaughters room. I used a veil material and two different types of fairy lights. Love it. Thank you!
Enjoyable to watch, and you took the mystery out of a project that everybody else seems to make way too complicated. And I loved your hair with the low Italian ponytail you look like the angel fairy goddess DIY teacher
Me and my family are moving so we're gonna redecorate my room (I shared with my siblings) this video gave so many ideas! You're instructions were so clear better then other videos, thanks!

I love it my Christmas wish is to have a canopy I've wanted one so it could make me like a princess I said that when I was 3
Thanks for the video! How did your light hold up? Customers on Amazon complained that the lights shorted out, didnt work at all or only lasted a few dats.
You could use small clear rubber bands to tie them to the hooks, rather than fish line or sticky tape.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂😇
Cute I'm gettin using your tutorial to do one for my daughter

does the 15 yards go for any size bed ? i have a queen size bed and i want it to look just like yours
@alli7953
7 жыл бұрын
good question, because you have a queen size bed, add another 7 yards, because your bed is wider, you need to triple up the fabric instead of doubling it like i did in the vide
The safety pins helped me , thanks. Great job. Also, the name of the material. I bought netting not knowing the name of a nice material.
I love the video and I love the great details you have for each step, it's so extremely helpful! I just wish that you recorded a better view of the final results. I feel like I can't get a nice, full view of how it looked. I can see that the sheet went behind your bed frame, but what about the end of your bed? Was the sheet long enough to hang over the end as well? I hope that makes sense.

Go to a website called wish. You will find ALL types of lights CHEAP. Now I will have to warn you , when you go to this site be careful not to get. . . Hooked. lol
do these led lights have levels you can change them to because I've seen some ked kught like this that have levels and hiw fats they blink. if not can it be done with the level changing lights?
Okay so I went to buy some of the lights you used in tutorial but all I found was " LED curtain string lights (300)" would the 300 be to much or would it be to little ??
I know this video is old but girl YOU DID THAT! lovely 😍

The lights you put up, are they really a yellowish gold glow? I bought string lights but they are very fluorescent and way too night. I like the soft yellow glow. Watched your video, ty so much as this will be much easier.
Thanks for this video! Question though, when you started hanging the cotton material were you safety pinning the material to the fishing line?

Superb vedio Dear
Wondering how I could use cloth to drape the entire ceiling in a small room in the basement,without lights.
Love the tutorial! Is the muslin totally opaque or can you see through a bit (during the day vs at night with the lights on)? I want to do this as a privacy curtain as well.

Pastelitas omg I'm so late to reply!!!! I'm so thankful for that tip! I have finally done my own canopy! Thxx!
Would this type of fabric be big enough to do with a king size bed? And do you have it doubled?
@alli7953
7 жыл бұрын
i recommend doubling the fabric!
If u leave them on too long will they eventually burn or light the drapes on fire?
How did you plug the lights in to the outlet
Do you think that I could do this with a loft bed
Would command hooks work instead of screw in hooks? I'm moving to an apartment next year for school and I can't put holes in the wall lol
@alli7953
6 жыл бұрын
Jay Jones they would need to support the weight of the fabric and lights, so make sure they are strong enough
What kinda lights did you use again?
i wan't to try this but is it safe, like my house won't burn down

For my bedroom I just brought a staple gun n stapled everything....be very careful with the lights though as they will obviously break if u damage the wire.. xx
So i want to try it but i have a ceiling fan what should i do plz help
is there another fabric i can use? The muslin is quite expensive ...
Where do u get the fairy lights?
How many sheets are needed to fit the seams?
If we didn't have a ceiling fan, I would do this in my master bedroom.
Are the lights battery operated or can you plug them into the wall?
how many yards did you use?
@alli7953

I used 15 but depending if you want less drape down the headboard you can use 12 or 10 even
Would it look good with tulle?
