This DIY bralette is a an easy first make if you have ever wanted to try to make your own bra. The pattern is easy to understand with a great set of bra making instructions that are really clear and come with step by step photos. Bonus, it comes together really quickly.
The pattern is free from Ohhh lulu. you can find the bra pattern through this link. (not affiliated at the time of posting this video) www.ohhhlululingerie.com/prod...
Making your own bra is a rewarding process not to mention you have a much better chance of getting a bra that fits. I made an adjustment to this pattern to make the bra deeper so If you are plus sized, watch for that about mid way through the tutorial.
Pair this with some matching undies cloned from your favorite pair. The tutorial for making your own underwear is here. • DIY UNDERWEAR | How to...

Hi, great videos, very nice quality and aesthetics and projects that are actually practical/relevant for everyday wear. If im correct you don't use a serger? Do you just use the zig zag and the straight stitch? How do you manage not to get the Stitches all stretched out like the home sowing machines do so often with knit fabrics? Also i have sewn 3 braletts so far but only wear one since i felt like the stitches on the other two weren't comfortable. Do you think it's because i used a "rough" thread and should use a more soft one, pleasant to skin? Cheers and keep the good content coming ;)

Thank you so much. I do have a serger but because of the nature of the bralettes I wanted to sew with what most people have access to. It's an intimidating project if you've never done one and I didn't want people to think it was required. Or that it was easier for me to complete the project because I used one. So yes I mostly use straight and zig zag or three part zig zag. Lightning stitch can also be useful. As for the uncomfortable stitching, I'm not sure. If you are using regular thread you could try stretch thread. I think that something like machine embroidery satin thread might not be strong enough. Could it be a fit issue? Perhaps the areas of discomfort are a bit tight? Most women have a bit of an irregularity when it comes to size from one side to the other. If the discomfort is more on one side than the other, try measuring each breast separately from your sternum, over the apex and back down to your ribs. If they are different then you might need to make that adjustment on your pattern. I'm going to talk more about that in my next bra video in a couple of weeks. I hope that helps.

Hey, I just uploaded a video talking about using French seams in bras to avoid itching and thought of you. Maybe they would be helpful for you? kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZWptycWtpa6sebw.html

Super cute, but the bra straps would be way too skinny for me.

Rats...I am desperatelyvseeking a pullover bralette that will work for my huge boobs/chest... "support" is less of an issue when I experience skin conditions aggravated by metal /plastic hardware and seams I have found that the "seamless" pullover bra is more comfy/less damaging for my skin conditions & better than the glands flapping about " loosely goosey" style (old phrase) I still loved your video and am watching to learn...many thanks
