    That's the next project at my place. Going to tackle it DIY. My house side is the exact same setup, but my other wall continues as a knee-high wall towards the street. I guess I just cut a spot out where the gate goes, slip in an H block or H/A combo. Two 8 ft gates, 6ft tall walls from back to gate, pony wall to sidewalk. I'll tell the building inspector not to worry, I've been watching Odell Complete Concrete for years!

    Good job as usual Dave but I would have ran some epoxy dowels horizontally from the existing masonry into the new masonry column .... especially at the top. The new gate is wider and heavier and they will be some tension loads at the top of that new column

    Looks great! Pure curiosity on my part: if you had demoed the walls before pouring the driveway expansion, could you have avoided the patches and just poured it all at once? Or was there a reason to do the walls after? Thanks!

    My block wall has a rounded cap. How can I build on top of that? Do I need to break it off or start over? It’s currently only around 4 feet tall. I just want to go up another couple blocks/feet for privacy
