    This past Sunday someone at my blacksmith group was talking about this same video. I meant to look it up and forgot, then lo and behold, it just pops up in my feed! Looks time consuming, but a simple concept - very awesome! You got my subscription.

    An adjustable bristle length is needed when blacksmithing. This can be achieved by adding another layer of wood with holes drilled as holes previous spacing and leather straps each end. this extra wood then can be raised for softer or lowered for a more course brushing strokes.

    you're not stupid my friend, I had the same problem but I finally figured it out. in my country this kind of spring wire is used to pass electric wire through the wall you should look for it in electrical supplies.

    Enough bailing wire might do the trick. Though it would probably be mild steel, and might wear faster than these spring ones. Get thick stuff and only use it for hot work? 🍻

    @@BurntMushroomBlacksmithing if you use bailing wire it would bend at the first touch. it should be some kind of spring wire.

    What is the size of the spring steel used ?

  • @Apurak

    @Apurak

    the cross section is 1*3.5 mm , but it could be anything close to this size. the length of the wire is also optional, depending on how soft or harsh you want the brush to be like, I picked about 12cm each, so when i bent them in half it would be 6cm, and 2cm of it would be in my first wood block, so I end up with 4cm of wires that sticks out of the block.
