Thank you! I MADE THIS as a gift for an older woman. It's so cute I want one for myself now. It reminds me of doing origami following the instructions ... but it works! (Just be very very careful to watch each step as you're doing it - and pay attention to all the details - it's super important. The video is fast, but it took me about 8 hours today just to sew it. I have another 3-4 hours in shopping the fabric and notions and cutting out the pieces, ironing on the interfacing. Give yourself time if you're not a professional (I'm not a pro.) I watched and rewatched the video many many times! This is the 3rd project I'd made from sewingtimes - and I love all of them. I had trouble with some other tutorials from other people - so I'm going to stick with this channel since I know it works. For fabric, I used quilting cotton, and Pellon ShapeFlex fusible interfacing. The main outer fabric is charcoal grey with simple line drawings of daisies in black and white ... and the contrasting fabric and lining are dark pink. I chose grey Coats and Clark sports zippers which are perfect with the charcoal fabric! I found charcoal grey heavy duty thread to match. TIP: My "sports zippers" have wide pulls. That meant it was hard to sew past them ... and I couldn't move the zipper pull past the needle. To make it work - I put the zipper pull in the middle (opened zipper a little) ... sewed up to it ... removed the fabric from the machine ... closed the zipper ... then put it back on my machine to continue sewing the same line. (It would NOT fit past the needle while sewing like the smaller zippers do.) TIP: The 3x3cm zipper end covers are maybe a little short in length ... so I mad them 30x34mm instead. It really depends on your zipper. Compare it carefully with your fabric pieces before you sew it - look how close you want your covers to be to the ends of the zipper ... then decide the length that way. (Fold the covers and measure it to be sure what size works for the zipper you bought.) TIP: Sewing the zipper itself ... for us non-professionals... use MANY MANY pins to secure the zipper to the bag. Make sure everything is ridiculously FLAT before you sew ... so your zipper isn't wavy! I used 10 pins each time I attached a zipper - because I'm not a professional sewer! TIP: Use a zipper foot when sewing that zipper - or you'll never get close enough to the zipper teeth any other way. TIP: Don't be afraid to "stay stitch" pieces together in the hidden part of the seam allowance before you sew it for real. For example: the last part where she sandwiches the body of the bag, an inner layer, and the back layer and sews them all in one go is daunting for me ... instead... I stay stitched the inner layer to the bag in a part of the seam allowance that wouldn't be seen (like an 1/8" in only) ... just to tack it down ... then I put the back layer on and sewed it for real .. and nothing was sliding or folding on me. TIP: Instead of webbing strap for a belt ... I was going to use the quilting cotton -- matches perfectly with the bag that way. TIP: If the person using the bag isn't nimble with their hands (arthritis) then have them try attaching it to the FRONT of their body on the belt loops instead of the side .... it can be much easier to use the clips in front of the body for them. LAST TIP: When you do that last bit of sewing all around the bag .... be super careful of two things ... that last zipper is supposed to be at the top of your bag. Double check that's where it aligns when you're folding and sewing ... AND ... AND ... SUPER IMPORTANT: that last zipper should be partly OPEN when you sew all the layers together because you have to reach through that opening to turn everything inside out. If it is fully closed, you'll have a bear of a time opening it backwards. Good luck! And THANK YOU so much to SewingTimes!! I'll be sewing more of your beautiful designs... they're SO clever and so pretty! (The first one I made was the little girl's purse - I used Mickey Mouse fabric ... and made a smaller version of your "easy" pouch to fit inside. Super super cute!!!)

This will be a great pouch for me to wear while walking my dogs each day! Phone, house key, poop bags (empty of course) ... all will fit nicely in this little bag! Love it!

Thank you! I sewed this bag after falling in love with it on Pinterest! These instructions were very good. I am not a great sewer and my cutting the correct sizes if cloth is not always accurate, but hey! It worked and finally I am so proud of my first sewing project. I love love love my beltbag and I will use it when going for walks with my husband. I only need to take with me my smartphone, perhaps some money coins (if there is need for some coffee or icecream 😊) and thats it! Here we go! Thank you so much!!

I finally finished this bag and found it to be a challenge. I really like the results but my phone is a tight fit so I would make it 1/2 inch longer next time.

I do dog training and need a treat bag. I will use the inside fabric with oilcloth to prevent oils from food leaking through. Love your videos

For the list of materials, Two 7"zippers are needed (not one, as stated in directions), midweight fusible interfacing, as well as 8 - 1.25 x 1.25 in pieces of fabric to enclose zipper ends. It would've helped if the blue fabric was a fabric that more clearly showed the right vs wrong isde. Also note on where to place the strap connectors.

I tried this project. And it turned out well. You will need: 2) 7 inch zippers 8) 1 1/4 inch square- zipper cover 3) 8 1/4×4 3/8 2) 8 1/4×4 3/8 2) 8 1/4×1 3/4 ) 8 1/4×5 3/4- Back portion of bag 3) 8 1/4×5 3/4 lining for front pocket and inside large bag portion Also interfacing. I used lightweight and it turned out great.

I tried this today and it didn't take all that long. I think I just should have done a test one first instead of using 'fancy' fabric as it didn't turn out exactly as I wanted. But all the same, the instructions were easy to follow. I'm going to try again with cotton instead of what I had used the first time. My end result doesn't look bad, but its clear I was having issues with the zipper I picked out. lol

I figured it out, the second zipper caused more height, but the measurements didn't include more inches for the height. They all stayed the same. Yayyyyy!!! Figured it out. So when sewing the second zipper the lining must be longer or it won't reach.
